Dungeon Meshi (Delicious in Dungeon)

Hello! I personally don't have any of the supplements to the series, so can someone answer this for me?

I know there's an in-universe disdain for relationships between races, particularly the long-lived ones (elves, dwarves, gnomes) vs. the short-lived ones (tallmen, half-foots), but barring half-elves, I don't remember there being any viable cross-race progeny mentioned anywhere. Is it even possible too? I know that half-foots seem to think dwarves are attractive so..

Hmm, I haven't read through my Complete Adventurers' Bible yet, but I don't thiiiink so? I can't really think of reasons why it would work for humans and elves but not other races (of course, answers ranging from well-thought-out biology to 'D&D doesn't have half-halflings' are all entirely possible).

I think it's mentioned that some of the bit characters showing up here and there were mixes. Like the halfling they wanted to sell their vegetables to iirc?

The corpse-retrievers who kept trying to fuck over Kabru's party had two I think.

Also one of the elves in the latest Hour seems like a Gnome or Halfling mix.

It's probably best to avoid that sort of thing, because you'll quickly end up with a plethora of mixed races that all have their own features and characteristics. Just for this show, with just 7 species, that could make for 21 combinations.

I think I remember hearing that dwarf-gnome hybrids exist, and they're also fertile unlike half-elves.

What, what, half-elves are sterile/like mules in-universe? Where was this mentioned?

They mentioned it right around the time Marcille was revealed as a half-elf.

Yeah, that comes pretty late in the series.

Re,the latest episode with the Red Dragon

I almost,ALMOST pulled away when they were reattaching Lios's leg,also finding Falin's remains jesus christ

Seeing her bloody skull is much more gruesome in animation.

I was half expecting them to find Falin in bloody pieces

Not to mention in colour, I imagine.

And yeah, what a twist, right? The first time I read the series, I was expecting that they'd find her in the dragon's stomach, but intact, but nooo...

At least they did'nt go for having the dragon sneeze her out!

Oh, just wait until you see what happens next week...

Man, I never expected to see a mainstream comic go full hard vore.

thanks to certain eager fan I know exactly what happens!

Now this has been a ride. I started watching this just to see some wacky fantasy stuff with delicious looking food, but then episode 3 really impressed me with how creative this take on living armor was and since then I have gotten more and more intrigued by the sprinkles of worldbuilding.

And now the most recent episode was genuinly kinda shocking with how graphic it got. Right now it looks like the main driving force of the story so far has ended in failure, so what now?

How many chapters/volumes is the anime up to right now?

As of this episode (haven't watched it just yet) we've either finished chapter 26 or 27, out of a total of 97 chapters.

So we could have a good few more episodes? Maybe another season or two?

I think we're only going to have only twelve episodes for the entire rest of the manga after the red dragon arc. Which means we're likely going to see some serious cuts.

I’m a bit nervous about that. Hopefully they’ve been holding out on revealing am extra bunch of episodes.

In any case, should have expected it with the added color and squelching sounds, but digging out Falin’s remains was grody. Entire fight with the dragon was fantastic though, love the tongue clicking.

My guess is that if the series is successful enough, we'll get another season after this one. If we end around chapter 55 or so as people are predicting and as seems likely, then we could get a season 2 with another two cours.

We are now at chapter 29 of the manga, and that's now up to chapter 95. And the plot only gets denser from here.

Maybe we should split the thread in a manga and anime one? People might want to discuss the latest developments in the manga, after all.
