Hello there I'm currently working on a piece of historical fiction about a professional thief who get sucked into the Rough Riders in the Spanish American War. You see he tries to steal from Theodore Roosevelt in 1891, too which his is promptly hunted down and captured by Roosevelt. However with his rising political career and the fact that he knew he had to be a little sneaky combined with his slight admiration of our thief's intelligence and expertise Roosevelt makes him a deal. He won't go to jail on the condition that he willingly signs up for the army to learn proper discipline and helps Roosevelt with some more underhanded things if necessary.
