I'm surprised I'm not more pumped for this. Platinum Games + Transformers? Sounds like a win-win to me. The graphics look great, stills look like hand-drawn art.

What first impression reviews I've seen have been fairly positive. I'll wait until more reviews before I get the game, though.

Any thoughts?

Any thoughts? Any thoughts? Here's my thought...

How did I not know this game even existed? I better check it out!

So is Nova Prime really not a boss at all in this game? He seems like the perfect Platinum Games boss and has a model.

I saw Two Best Friends Play do a video about this. It looks amazing :D

... okay, wow. I really kinda want this, despite having a backlog of games that would probably last me through about 2017 if I started playing them seriously >.<

Wellp, maybe when the price drops. Looks completely amazing, though. Very much a child of the Eighties, and loved G1 Transformers growing up. So yeah, I do want this.

Although... can you imagine a game like this, but with... something like the full G1/2 roster? Dunno if the engine could handle it, but a huge battlefield with all the various Autobots and Decepticons going at it... maybe throw in the Quintessons and their Sharkticon legions, just for fun... good times, heh.

For that matter... the whole 'Transformers have their own special powers' schtick that was honestly kind of ridiculous in the original seems to be pretty much tailor-made for a game like this. Pick Mirage, and you can go invisible and stealth into position for a massive combo, or take Skywarp, and you can pop all over the place like Nightcrawler... maybe someday grin

I would recommend waiting for a price drop.

It's a solid action game that gives me my Platinum fix.

I think I liked their Korra game more.

Character action with Grimlock. Sick truck combos.

Considering the recolors used in Transformers, I'd be surprised if there weren't future DLC skin packs for Cliffjumper or Ultra Magnus.

I dislike Activision, but Platinum Games...!

Is this game perfectly playable without shelling out extra money for DLC?

So far there isn't any DLC.

I hear it's kinda short but there is replay value.

The initial price may hold people back initially if they aren't huge Transformers/Platinum fans.

Finished it.

It was better than I expected; especially after what happened with Korra.

If this sells well enough to warrant a sequel, I'd hope it would have a much larger budget to work with(this game's low budget is very apparent in the relative lack of enemy and level variety compared to Platinum's other titles).

This joke from the Two Best Friends video sums up this game and Platinum's attitude towards character action really well:

Activision: You can't put Devastator as the first boss! That's insane!

Platinum (probably Kamiya): Fuck yeah, it is!

And then Kamiya blocks them on Twitter.

The ending is a pretty big Sequel Hook, so I'd totally be down for that. Shockwave's probably the best boss.

Actually, I do think it'd probably the opposite. Transformers is the epitome of Merchandise-Driven, and Devastator has a huge toy on the shelves now. I'm pretty sure that Hasbro mandated he be the first boss fight.

Holy shit, landing Grimlock's Ground Scraper on bosses (especially Megatron and Starscream) feels so fucking good!
