"The Protagonist is really strong in his own way, but the system doesn't measure that so he's put on bottom of the hierarchy' thing,"
Now where did I hear that before...
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.I read a bit of the manga about a year ago; series bored me to tears, but I guess I got a bit of a reason to finish it now.
This one is only 12 episodes tho while Asterisk is 24 however.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. The concept is similar but the execution is quite different. Ikki seems to have overcome his shortcomings with hard work, instead of having mommy turn him into a super-magician and then having a gall to say that people should just accept their lot in life like Magic Jesus.
Oh, and he has an actual personality.
Mind you, as I said I don't especially like that aspect, but as long as they don't overplay it, it's not a deal breaker for me.
He actually does work hard and is fairly modest, so he's not as obnoxious as tatsuya.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Also, he's strong but not overpowered. His best skill leaves him incapacitated after one minute, and he only really won the fight because Stella was expecting a total weakling.
The main character is the thing I am interested most after watching the first episode as he seems to have some interesting abilities (I always like characters who copy other characters skills to use against them and his super mode is quite cool).

Knowledge is Power, Guard it WellI actually liked Stella powers more, that flame based protective aura was pretty cool, and she even destroyed the roof of the stadium.
It wasn't explained, but the aura was her own mana. Everyone has it, pretty much, and it defends against the phantasmal forms (each successful strike saps the opponent's energy) of weapons. Hers was particularly strong though, because her magical ability is first class.
Which also means that it's impossible for low-ranked Blazers to even touch her, because they don't have enough power to cut through her mana shield. Ikki's an exception, only because of Ittou Shura's insane output.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!Well, that's an convenient ability, things like that really show a difference between the strong and weak.
I just hope that Ittou Shura won't become an abusable instant win card for Ikki, that would suck.
Well, just keep watching I guess.
Give the God Eater game thread some love! That's not very reassuring...
Anything I say will be a spoiler.
His first match in the tournament more or less shows you how his fights tend to go though.
Or was it his first major fight? I can't remember.
Give the God Eater game thread some love! His first major fight, which shouldn't too long from now.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Well, I'll wait till I see it before commenting the matter further then.
My first impressions weren't high for this show, I'll admit. It started off too much like Asterisk War, and I decided to drop that after the first episode. I haven't been into the protag vs main harem girl because of contrived 'seeing her changing' as per tradition.
But you know what won me over? The moment he tried to avert the same scene of walking into a changing woman by acknowledging it and then offering to take his own shirt off to make it even. The battle could have gone without the lecturing and explaining your power to the enemy, and princess isn't going to be my favorite character, but I'll give the rest of it a try.
Stella gets quite adorable.
Give the God Eater game thread some love!My favorite scene was probably Stella checking out Ikki abs when he was sleeping. I found that oddly endearing.
What made that scene was when she was getting turned on by it, but didn't know why lol.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.Yeah, first impression about his ranking was The Irregular At Magic High School. Basically just an excuse to have him socially ranked at the bottom, while still giving him the option of being a badass fighter.
I hope Stella won't continue being so unreasonable she was in the beginning. To the story's credit, she does come off as quite insane in her demands. And to her credit, she is fairly quick to adjust her opinions if she has reason to. She's also very aggressive in her tsundereness, to the point where it's so clear what she's really saying that it doesn't come off as particularly dishonest.
He's not bad either. A fair balance between humility, self worth, and willpower. And at the same time, an ability to not take everything so seriously, which is refreshing.
Check out my fanfiction!I wouldn't say that Stella behavior at the beginning was unreasonable. A guy walks in on her in underwear and then starts undressing himself, I say a slap in the face was more than warranted.
Which she followed up with demanding him to commit sudoku.
Check out my fanfiction!I don't see a problem, those aren't even that hard to solve.
Yea man, I solved that shit when I was 12.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. But it involves something that resembles Math. Can it be more horrible than that?
The first games I got on my last two cellphones were sudoku games.

So, a second high-school fantasy anime that starts with Hero walking in on Heroine changing and getting in a fight with her. What are the odds. Surprisingly I like them both.
The strong point of the episode were the characters. Both Ikki and Stella are pretty interesting characters, and I liked how they played of each other, Ikki weird ideas about Chivarly and Stella being a Closet Pervert was really funny. I want to see how their relationship will develop from here. Since they are living together, this could be pretty funny.
I also like how the magic looks like, and the battle choreography was pretty cool.
I'm not too fond of the "The Protagonist is really strong in his own way, but the system doesn't measure that so he's put on bottom of the hierarchy' thing, I have hard time swallowing some of the things he does as a result of hard work. But as I say, if this doesn't become too big of a plot tumor I can let it go.
All in all I liked the first episode and will keep watching.
