To start off, here's a map. It's got the big things you should know, while leaving the smaller stuff, like random towns and shit, up in the air.

You can probably tell when I got tired.

Ralsykt Desert: Home to the ancient and vestigial Syktian Empire, the endlessly shifting sands hides secrets beyond measure, wonders and dangers beyond compare. Monsters of all kinds have claimed this place as their home, living in the dunes. A dangerous place, the sands are broken up by massive roads hewn from stone, called the Ways, which connect the old cities. An ancient enchantment protects them, preventing the swirling sands from obscuring the Ways, leaving them the safest path to traverse the Desert, without fear that a monster may be lurking underneath your feet. However, time and neglect are taking their toll, and some of the Ways have disappeared, relinquished to the hungry desert.

Syktian Empire: Once glorious, once mighty, spanning from edge to edge, the Syktian Empire is now a shadow of what it was. A vestigial empire, the former cities are divided, at constant war, each leader claiming to be the next Emperor, driven by visions, by some tertiary bloodline, any excuse. Their Gods are forgotten, their people are scattered. However, the elves of the desert do not see it as such. They know that they alone could lead the Syktian Empire to glory, that it is their divine mandate. Due to this, the Ways have fallen into disrepair, many tombs and ruins lost to the sands and the monsters.

Heart of Winter: (Formerly) Home of the Winter Marshal. A land of eternal frost and ice. It is divided from the rest of the land by the unyielding High Fangs, the terrifying, unforgiving peaks surrounding his domains. The safest path through the Fangs lies deep in the heart of the Ralsykt Desert. The Marshal's home, the Frostfort, is nested beneath the shadow of volcanoes. Now that he has been defeated, his lands are occupied by a dedicated contingent of scholars and warriors, relentlessly hunting for his secrets, secrets lost to mortality.

To the South of the Heart of Winter, past the High Fangs, lie a land once dominated by the demon family, the Alastorides. When they were defeated, however, their estates were taken over, sacked and razed, converted to a port town.

In the center of Essearnis stand the Blackspine Ridge, which separates the Orcen lands to the north from the human-led Bracian League to the south. These center powers have always ever been rivals. The chance of all-out war between the two has been prevented due to advantages specific to the two nations: the might of Orcish fortifications and magic devastating any siege potential from the north. The Bracian Sentinels, a line of towers dotting the Ridge, halting any potential advance from the north. However, when the then-leader of the Orcs, Acland Tomsich, threw his lot in with the Winter Marshal, he left his lands open to reprisal. When the Marshal fell, the remaining orcs were 'liberated' (subjugated) by a joint Alhestian-Bracian venture, occupying those lands. In memorial, they carved out the land, raising Victory Canal.

The Bracian League is a loose confederate of human lords, united solely by geography. Each city-state tends to stand apart, only uniting in the face of a common threat. With the fall of the Marshal and the subjugation of their Orcish neighbors to the North, they have little else to turn their efforts to, but for themselves.

The Heart of Darkness, the all-consuming forest. Uncharted and mysterious, it spawns more stories than any other, all rumors and whispers. However, the herbs found here are unique, with wondrous properties, so a select few find the risk of braving the forest, or at least its edge, to be worth it.

To the Northeast lie the Plains of the Khans. Peaceful. Despoiled. Ruled by restless goatmen and satyrs. They are a nomadic and fierce people, always traveling.

The Kingdom of Alhest is a rare case, led by Mage-Kings from generation after generation. They have embraced magic in all of its wonders and terrors, employing mages of all levels in all positions from agriculture to battle. As a result, their industry is one of the strongest around. Alhest was the last to respond to the Winter Marshal's threat. When they finally did mobilize an army, the Marshal raised a mighty bridge of ice from the Alastorides' estate, across the sea, cutting through the Alhestian defenses. The glaciers from that event remain to this day.

Stormwind Island: Once ruled by a dragon king, the island was largely ignored by the rest of the world, which was perhaps how its ruler wanted it to be. After the fall of Dalwrath, however, Alhestian mages have set up camp, researching the dragon's spoils and plunders.

Oh, I didn't notice that you had just set up a bunch of lore right before I made my post. Should I try and edit it accordingly?

Just one idea for the goatmen and satyrs.

Maybe to contrast the two species they have different standards of dress, with goatmen pretty much covered to the neck down to it even been rude to be lacking gloves (since the heads are the only standout features of the goatmen)

Satyrs on the other hand, are pretty much naked, except for the fact the females wear bras (they're not going to need to worry about modesty from the waist down since that's the goat part)

I can also see the reason the Wizards could take over Stormwind Island is the half-dragons who wanted to take over the island feel they need to get the mark from Velnae's death first. They're probably preparing their defences in case of a return even if they've been gone for centuries.

Some people say I'm lazy. It's hard to disagree.

I'd imagine modesty for goat-like peoples in general focusing on one important part: the horns. Considering that they're used solely to prove the more virile male in a group, they'd probably cover them up and get offended when you make jokes about them being horny.

Can we have a quick list for who's accepted and who's not?

So, while I was researching a little on hunting, I came across this piece of interesting article. Never really thought of that, maybe I'll integrate it into Annie's character.

Oh no it's fine. It's really just the Elder Tosbin going into the recipe of the Chimera formula and how he made a potion to unlock part of the power but it's incomplete for a full change. And then it devolves into some standard villain stuff, ranting and raving about his legacy and the vengeance that will be wrought by his heirs.

-dramatic music ensues-
