Mind, Square Enix was the publisher for one of those.
So.
Like, yeah, it was the Eidos guys that developed it, but.
It was still Square's money.
Kojima Productions had an studio in LA.

Halo MMO: Cancelled was worse. No love for Halo?
My Deviant Art account. There might be art there. Sometimes.Surprised Pokémon Red and Blue is on there, even with all of the marketing. With that price tag I'm actually shocked it got released at all, especially since Nintendo thought it wouldn't do well at first due to how late it came out in the Game Boy's lifespan.
Edit: No price tag is given for the actual development cost, I misread it because I'm on a phone. Still amazing that it's on the list for marketing alone.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I'd point out Jim Sterling doesnt hate Konami. The reason he invented the fuck konami hashtag and meme is the sort of hate borne out of a true fan. Jim'sfavoerite game series of alkl time are silent Hill and Metal gear. Jim has been blacklisted literally by Konami for criticizing their dumb decisions, and is constantly disappointed in what they do with their franchises nowadays.
Its not that Jim hates Konami. its that he loves Konami I Ps so much that he despises what Konami has become.
I still should play Silent Hill at some point.
Good thing I didn't sell my PS 1. Or are the Silent Hill games on PSN?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!@Bat178: Except that mid-tier devs can still do quite well...like Paradox or Atlus...
Give me cute or give me...something?Those two companies are doing something that more devs should try: instead of trying to reach ever-wider audiences, they are catering to a specific niche, and are good at it.
^ Yep, and it's why they're in mid-tier. And it's why I think that if another video game crash is coming, they'll be the one least affected...
Give me cute or give me...something?@Powerpuffbats: Silent Hill 1 is on PSN, yeah. Silent Hill 2 and 3 are PS 2 but have got HD remakes for PS 3 and Xbox 360.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! The 360 version is almost unplayable from what I have heard, so many frame rate issues and bugs.
@Midget: Yup, he'd much rather Konami sell them off or just let those series die a dignified death. He hates Konami the company.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau Project^^ The PS 3 version isn't super great either. The PS 2-versions of both games are the ones I'd recommend.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I heard that about ZOE. Mine was perfectly fine, thankfully. I didn't get it at launch, so I probably missed the worst of it.
Apparently the same happened with Persona 3 FES, which was borderline unplayable on the PSN at first.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. Can I download the PS 3 versions of Silent Hill 2 and 3?
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!At this point I'm just waiting for Konami to port all their old games to Steam (which will probably happen eventually). Though Silent Hill will probably get the shitty versions, so that series would still be screwed.
No, they're disc only. It's pretty cheap though, because of the issues.
Not Three Laws compliant. Then I'd have to buy the 360 version because my PS 3 has this weird thing with reading new discs.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life! This thread is quickly invalidated by Konami themselves...
Not really. I will take that "carefully worded" PR fluff with a grain of salt. Here's a cynical interpretation.
(1) - PES
(2) - The franchises will continue to be worked on, but only in pachislot.

My Deviant Art account. There might be art there. Sometimes. As mentioned earlier, western PR means very little. More importantly, they don't have the staff to make AAA games anymore. Metal Gear will be outsourced, and PES will continue as long as that sells, but that's probably about it as far as big games are concerned.
How exactly is it invalidated? Because the support people of the western branch of the company, AKA the absolute last people who to learn of company decisions, said so?
as has been said before, unless konami's corporate culture changes somehow it's unlikely that anything good will come out of it.
i can see an outsourced metal gear game being released maybe, probably to some american dev with good intentions but who will be unable to recreate the series' magic without kojima, leading to a Broken Base at best and konami then using that as an excuse to discontinue the franchise except for pachinko theming or mobile exploits.
outside of that i think they're done.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most_expensive_video_games_to_develop
Basically, MGSV slightly tops Shenmue and MGS4 as the most expensive Japanese video game in plain cash to develop, but there's a lot of western games (and FF7 if advertising is included).
