Gods above, she's a fucking weeb.. Any discomfort or annoyance Lina had doesn't show on her face.
"IED? I'l take one.~" She says to Lucas. Never know when you're going to need to blow something up, she thought.
off the shits"Truth be told I..." She sighed. Her hobbies weren't exactly standard for a villain. "I like to do visual arts. Drawing and painting mostly, with a little sculpting on the side. I use my telekinetic abilities for that. It's great practice."
She turned to Dirk after completing her final weld. "Obviously, we're going to be using these in the field. Wanna take a guess what we'll be doing that would require us to knock out electronics?"
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!Having overheard Jackie talking, Charles replied:
"My guess would be a bank heist simulation. It's one of the most basic crimes after all, and the alarms would need to be deactivated in some way."
The Harbinger himself was busily soldering together various parts. Luckily for him his powers allowed him to touch the metal right where the welding would take place, allowing for him to achieve a higher degree of precision than he would have been able to otherwise.
If it really was a bank heist though, he was worried. Invulnerability was nice, but it didn't stop one from being caught.
Dirk looked impressed that Jackie indulged in the arts as a hobby, stopping his work for a moment and looking to see if she was telling the truth. "The power of art is often... underestimated." He commented, thinking of his own notebook. He felt she was trustworthy, at least more so than others in the class. Surtr was about to answer when Charles pitched in with his two cents, finishing up his circuitry before giving an opinion of his own.
"A heist, maybe..." He began, turning towards the boy, "Though they usually have their electronics shielded from such attacks - or robbery would be too easy. Depends on the bank..." Dirk slid his circuit boards towards Jackie and looked to the diagram again.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Darksword entered the room, looking slightly wild eyed - the truth being he had fallen right back asleep in the common room, and was only now prepared for class. The other thing contributing to his state was the person who came in right behind him.
Shiun Hojuugami, who immediately waved at Dirk in a way that looked somehow disturbing. It definitely seemed she found a favourite.
Her excessive enthusiasm made Ronnie take a seat as far from her as possible - that kind of unsettling energy made him vaguely nauseated.
Jackie added Dirk's circuits to her device, finishing everything off. "It's nice of you to say that, Dirk. My family wasn't so understanding. It was all 'Why haven't you been practicing that curse?' and 'Have you finished translating that Egyptian spellbook yet?' They might have cared about me, but they didn't really let me be my own girl." She didn't voice her opinions on the whole idea of a bank robbery. If it came, she was ready, and if it didn't, well, she was prepared for that, too.
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!Lina, having finished her breakfast, entered the classroom.

off the shitsDirk visibly shuddered as Shiun entered the room, deliberately ignoring her wave and overall looking deeply disturbed. In regards to what Jackie said, he had mixed feelings. After a few moments he opened his mouth as if to say something but stopped short of any words. Dirk nodded and grunted as she finished off the EMP device, waiting for any further instructions from the headmistress.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”((Ah, thank you, B Gob. I thought everyone was in class.))
Lucas had passed Lina an IED and a detonator, then headed to class. He might have arrived before Lina, but he had stopped to pour some water into his suitcase. Then he saw that a janitor had left a ladder out in the open, and it was just too tempting to resist. It had taken a while, but he had managed to finagle it in there. By the time he got to class, all the others seemed to be working, except for Lina, Ronnie, and Shiun. He had already been introduced to Lina and Shiun, and Shiun was...Well, he didn't hate her, but he imagined that working with her for a whole class period would grate. It was EMP devices. He'd made a few before. He made a mental note to shield his zapper and any future electronic tools he built. He knew that his mother shielded all of her gadgets - it was fairly simple, and past a certain point, absolutely necessary for any tech-based villain - but he hadn't thought to do it on his own.
"Do you know a lot about electronics?" Lucas asked Lina, getting some parts as well as diagrams. He didn't need them, but he figured he might get docked points if he differed a lot from the plans. "Oh, right. I should actually ask if you want to be my partner." He said, twirling a lock of his blond hair as he cursed himself for probably looking like an idiot.
((SU updated. Lost 1 IED. Gained 1 ladder, 1 gallon of tap water.))
Iris headed over to check Jackie and Dirk's work. "Excellent job, you two. Clean up your work station, if you please." Jackie beamed with pride. As she'd told Dirk, her parents had not been ones to give positive reinforcement often. Having someone tell her she did a good job warmed her black little heart. Maybe she was cut out to be a villain after all.
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!Seeing someone else finish their work first frustrated Charles a bit, but he didn't say anything. Instead he and his partner Ann Pecee quickly completed their task as well.
Charles then decided to use the time to look around the room, seeing whether someone would screw up and blow up their EMP in some way. It was unlikely, but it would certainly be entertaining.
"Nope, not really a techie~ That considered, yes I'd be fine with you being my partner." She looks over his shoulder at the diagrams, unaware that she's now very close to him.
"I could follow instructions, sure, but there's no way of knowing if I wouldn't fuck up somewhere..."
off the shitsDirk nodded his appreciation to Iris, noting that Jackie was positively beaming at the praise. She obvious hadn't been lying about her parents not giving enough positive reinforcement, "I hope it will receive similar praise in the mission..." He grinned, fastidiously cleaning up the work space. After a minute or so of cleaning the bench everything was back in order, Surtr dusting his hands slowly and observing the class progress.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Iris went over to check Charles' EMP device. "Good welding, excellent circuit work. I'm impressed." The sound of sizzling electronics filled the air as somebody else's device caught fire. Iris sighed and put it out by smothering it with a jet of ice. "There's always one...'
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward! The bell rang, signaling the end of class. "I'll take your devices and keep them until Friday," Iris said.
Jackie got up and pulled out her schedule. Next up was gym and power training with a teacher named... Ogre?! She gulped. This could be very ugly indeed.
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!Dirk rose from his seat and fished a timetable from between the pages of his notebook, briefly consulting it and then tucking both neatly back in his pocket. Gym with 'Ogre', an interesting prospect. He grinned with sadistic anticipation and filed out of the class room with everyone else, arriving at the gym within a few minutes.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Ronnie turned in a rather shabby looking device, but it was more than functional. It was clear he cared for functionality over appearance, though there may also be some elements of hurry in this.
Shiun's device was oddly well made, as in extremely well done. Despite her vapid appearances, she was definitely not a lightweight.
Gym with Ogre...great. Ronnie started off toward the gym.
Shiun initially looked off after the others as they left, her oddly vacant look almost seeming like it could extend a thousand yards...
Jackie got to the gym, where a giant of man was waiting for her. He had a bald head, brown eyes, and misshapen growths all over his body. "I'm Mr. Jones, but I think you'll know me better as Ogre," he said, one-handing a 500 lb. barbell. "Get changed into your sweats while you wait for the rest of your classmates."
Forward, boys! For God's sake, forward!
Dirk looked over the EMP plans and nodded after a moment to Jackie, slowly examining the page and tracing his callused finger over the circuit lines. He may have seemed to be a little slow to get the idea of what he should be doing but he needed to understand what he was to do before starting. As he worked out the reasoning behind the circuitry Dirk saw his partner welding the metal joints of with her finger, black smoke trailing from the white hot weld. Surtr gradually grinned, clearly impressed by her power but began his side of the project shortly after.
Dirk meticulously worked on the circuits, handling the soldering iron, components and circuit boards with surprising delicacy for such powerful hands. Now that he knew why and what he was making the job itself didn't take terribly long - his work was good, not being too terrible with electronics or construction. "Yesterday, Jackie..." Dirk began after a time, nearly finished with the circuits, "You never said if you have hobbies."
