Blackwood Academy of Supervillains

Charles was sure that Dirk's smack would have hurt, would it not have been for his powers.
He had known this person for less than five minutes and already didn't like him. What a great start for his first day here.
"Can't say I have.", he finally admitted to Jackie.
"Sounds impressive though. I only hope you've got your demon under control.
As for me...I really didn't have the best luck when it comes to powers. I can...communicate with fruit..."
Of course that was a lie, but Charles definitely didn't want to admit to being invulnerable in front of the guy who seemed all too willing to test the limits of this power. Hopefully he would leave soon.

Dirk bowed his head very slightly in acknowledgement of Jackie's deduction but smirked, "That is what they all see, until it is too late." He winked. Charles seemed uncomfortable around Dirk, albeit understandably, and so he didn't believe for a minute that he could communicate with fruit. Surtr didn't take it personally as most people cross to the other side of the Academy when he walked past, the 'geek' treating him as relatively normal, "Power is the least of why we are here." He commented, then looked at his hands in an embarrassed fashion, "Excuse me."

Dirk strode to the kitchen sink and began to wash off the blood, dirt and sweat from his arms after he tied his flannel shirt around his waist.

Yeah, there was no way in hell Jackie was buying Charles' story about being able to talk with the produce section. But she left it go. She'd find out soon enough anyway. They'd have to use their powers sooner or later... unless he was in the powerless Batman vein, and utterly embarrassed about it. Be that as it may, she still tried to get to know her fellow villains. "So, any interesting hobbies or the like?"

Dirk walked back to the other students, drying himself with a paper towel to reveal a series of lacerations on his skin - the cause of the blood. The reaction to Jackie's question could almost be described as sheepish however such a term was hardly appropriate for the giant, "Hobbies?" He was thoughtful for a short moment, "I... No. No hobbies." Surtr hardly knew this girl and while he liked the pair of new students, no one in Blackwood Academy could be trusted in the best of circumstances.

"I don't really have any hobbies either.", Charles admitted.
"I occassionally dabble in mad science like my father and I've tried my hand at the stock market a bit, but nothing that could be considered a hobby I believe. There probably won't be time for hobbies here anyway."

(Time skip, as per agreement)

The next day dawned bright and early, and Iris was already in her classroom, getting items out for her lesson. After all, she was first on the schedule. She was in costume, wondering if any students would be arriving ahead of schedule.

Jackie woke and got herself dressed. Today's outfit was a pink shirt and denim skirt, nothing too fancy. She went out to the common room, but she was the only one there. She started making herself breakfast, waiting for her fellow villains to come out and join her.

"Zzzzzz....."

Lina was asleep.

... Until her phone alarm went off. Groaning, she rolled over to turn it off. Deciding she might as well get up, she climbed out of bed and got dressed. A few minutes later she walked into the common room in a hoodie and a pair of shorts, yawning as she did.

A shadow at the back of the classroom rippled as Adrian stepped out of it and entered the room. Since he was an early riser, he had completed his morning routine earlier than some of the others. He was dressed in his non-villain clothes, although the Cross had opted to bring his blades with him.

"Good morning, Headmistress." Adrian greeted Iris, then began looking around to see if anyone else had arrived.

As his alarm clock went off, Charles was already finishing his last preparations before heading to class. It wouldn't do one well to be late and especially not on one's first day here.
While he was wearing civilian clothes, he was carrying his costume with him. After all he might have to use it today. Who knew?
Hopefully they wouldn't have to do anything physical. Charles had never been much of a fighter or a runner.
Significantly early he stepped into the classroom.

"*Yawns* ... Hey.. Jackie, was it? Good morning..." Lina approaches the other girl.

Dirk rose as dawn broke, a habit from his days on the farm that he did not try to change. There was much to be done even here albeit of a more nefarious nature. He quickly dressed himself in his boots, jeans and off-white T-shirt, gently tucking his notebook into a back pocket and pausing to pick up his only framed picture. The picture itself was dirty - burned about the edges and stained with something like rust. It showed a smiling family, Dirk's family and their only photo surviving the fire. "Het spijt me... Wraak comt." Surtr sighed, opening his eyes and exiting his room.

Arriving in the Common Room Dirk saw Jackie and another girl at the table, "Good morning, Jackie." He smiled to the former, bowing his head a little. He eyed the other girl suspiciously for a moment, "Do you drink coffee?" He asked his new 'friend' after a pause.

Ronnie walked into the room - his sleep was not so good - he never slept well outside the home. As such, he looked rather bleary and tired, though he managed to pull himself together enough to introduce himself.

"Hey pretty ladies..." He then looked at Dirk and stated, "Oh, hello Mr. Gigantism."

He then proceeded to his seat, and immediately his head started going toward the desk.

And of course "Shiun" entered the room too in her usual way. Though there were some people now it seemed she was trying to keep her distance from. "HEYO YOLO!!! I'm here and I slept well! Ohh, muscle-man, don't mind what Darkswordie says..."

She seemed to be dressed similarly to yesterday, but her clothes were pristine and without any sign of wear.

Iris looked at Adrian and Charles. "It's nice to see you two here early. You can pair up and get a head start on today's assignment. We'll be making EMP generators today, since we'll need them on Friday. Schematics and tools are at the workstations."

Jackie smiled at Dirk as she poured out a bowl of cereal for herself. "Come on and grab a seat, big guy." She then glanced at a handful of other students who hadn't been around during the little get-together she'd had with Dirk and Charles the previous day. "Yes, I'm Jackie, but I never got your names. Would you mind introducing yourselves?"

"Uhh... I guess so. With a lot of sugar." She answers Dirk. If that was directed at me

She inwardly rolled her eyes at what Ronnie said. Then again, even if she did do it outwardly, it's not like anyone'd be able to tell.

"I'm Lina." She answers to Jackie.

((Actually, it was directed at Jackie but she didn't respond so oh well. ))

Ronnie's comment elicited a look from Dirk that could skin a cat at 50 paces and his loud friend's reassurance did little to soften this. He'd heard the name Darksword before and he didn't like a legacy brat floating through the Academy as he pleased. Had Jackie not interrupted he might have done something worse with his eyes than glare. She clearly preferred a friendly approach and, seeing as she hadn't run screaming from him, he was inclined to respect that. The other girl, calling herself Lina, seemed interested in coffee if a bit confused about who he had asked. "A moment." Dirk rumbled, going to the coffee maker.

Shortly he returned with five mugs, a pot of coffee, milk and a bowl of sugar all perched across his broad arms. Dirk gently placed these down on the table, poured a mug for Lina (with three lumps of sugar) and himself (black and bitter) before seating himself very carefully. The chairs were reinforced but he still didn't trust them. Surtr looked somewhat comical perched on the chair but calmly took a large apple, devouring it in two bites.

Lina got herself some cereal before sitting and tasting the coffee. Deciding that it wasn't sweet enough, she adds some more sugar.

"Thanks!" She says quickly to Dirk, before starting on her cereal.

((It's cool, dudette! I was a bit too vague, anyhow.))

Dirk raised an eyebrow when Lina added more sugar but smiled and downed his own cup, pouring a bowl of cereal and letting the silence stand as it was.

Both of the two caught the look Dirk sent at Darksword - Ronnie just seemed bemused, and stretched a little in his seat wondering if this guy intended to start a fight so soon. Ah well. He hadn't heard much about Mr. Gigantism over there, except for the fact he had mad-scary eyes. Something to be careful about.

"Shiun" promptly started fawning over Dirk somewhat shamelessly. "Hey, muscle-man, can I feel your biceps? Ohmygawd its like being in the same room as a movie star~" Despite the enthusiastic tone, it seemed somewhat...programmed in. Like she was giving an impression.

Dirk flinched away from the fawning girl, shooting her a confused and distasteful look, "I am called Surtr - Not 'muscle-man' or 'Mr. Gigantism'." He rumbled clearly a little annoyed by these two. The girl seemed to be putting on an act or at the very least hamming-up her enthusiastic display. He didn't trust her but wasn't sure exactly why. Ronnie apparently found something about him amusing, Dirk did not like this but relented from confronting him here for the time being.

Adrian gave a curt nod to Iris and began to gather the schematics and materials for the generator. While doing so, his eyes flickered to his fellow classmate.

He looks familiar...right, we briefly met in the hallway.

I don't recall speaking with him...

"Excuse me..." He spoke out loud to Charles. "I believe we have met yesterday, but I do not recall introducing myself..." He paused briefly, before extending a hand out to shake."My name is Adrian."

"Good to meet you, Lina," Jackie said. She took a sip of the coffee. Not bad, not bad at all. She stood up and gave waved goodbye to her dormmates, then headed for class.

When she got there, she saw that Iris was already there. "Good to see you, Jackie. We're making EM Ps today. I want you to work in pairs, so you'll have to wait for someone else to get here, but you can get the parts and diagrams out while you wait." Jackie started getting her supplies, hoping that she ended up with someone who was technically minded. She had no experience whatsoever with making gadgets.

((Sorry I disappeared for a while. I have returned.))

Lucas got up early that morning, as per usual. He put a lot of effort into keeping his status as the prettiest bishonen in any given cohort of bishonen, and it took time. Between making sure his blond hair was nice and shiny and keeping his skin youthful, he was the last to show up in the common room. It didn't help that he had stolen a fire extinguisher on the way there. He had on his favorite spiky black jacket, and now he wore a black t-shirt, the inverted smiley-face with x'd out eyes leering up from his toned frame.

"Jackie. Lina. Ronnie. Shiun. Bane." Lucas said. The last person he greeted was of course Dirk. Speaking of Dirk, Shiun looked to be molesting the poor guy.

"Would anyone like some IE Ds? I stopped by the fabrication lab after getting set up in my dorm, and I made a lot." Lucas said as he got some coffee.

"Okay, Surtr desu desu ne!" Shiun smiled and stated aloud, winking and somehow making a sparkling sound as she did so. However, despite agreeing to call him his name, she didn't calm down her moves. Her eyes were oddly vacant, despite scanning him over rather inappropriately.

Ronnie groaned outloud, "And now she's speaking in stereotypical phonetically translated Japanese..."

Darksword looked over at Lucas and waved, and thought about what kind of class would be on first.

((Wait, is Lucas at class or the common room? I'll assume the former for now...))

Surtr shuddered as Shiun continued her display, leaning away ever so slightly. He wondered if excessive enthusiasm was her power - if it got worse than this, he could see it being a formidable threat to the world and its sanity. He got to his feet without a word, tucked the seat back under the table and exited the common room. Dirk walked somewhat faster than usual to class, very much hoping Shiun was not following him but not liking his chances.

Dirk entered Iris' classroom, "Headmistress..." He rumbled with a respectful bow before taking a seat next to Jackie.

So the big guy was sitting next to her. This was surprising. She thought he'd been indifferent to her at best.

Jackie showed Dirk the plans for the EMP generator. "I think you should make the circuits, and I'll handle the welding." Jackie concentrated on one of the metal joints, moving her finger across it. As she did so, a thin stream of black fire shot out and made a serviceable weld. Jackie looked at her work with appreciation. She was getting better with her control.
