Eventually, Ronnie and his new...ah, "friend" decided to move out and look around. He was alright with her appearance wise, but this "Shiun Hojuugami" seemed to be off in some way. Well, he wasn't about to look a gift hot chick in the mouth - she seemed to be on him.

"Like, omg! Look, its like an armory! Weapons and killy killy things!" Though he would never get used to that weird Snooki imitation of a voice.

He decided it couldn't hurt to look around - though it wasn't like he needed weapons with the power he had.

When they went into the armory, both noted the presence of other students testing out weapons and such.

Ronnie waved at everyone, "Hey there, looking for weapons I see."

"Shiun" just smiled and waved somewhat vacantly.

Lina resheathed the katana and looked at the newcomers.

"Hello!~"

Her nose then wrinkled imperceptibly.

Huh... That girl smells kinda funny..

The gun shots from the Armory and its firing range rang out across the wooded foothills, breaking Dirk’s trance. With a sigh he came to his feet, brushed the dirt and grass from his jeans and resumed walking. The giant villain had a purpose for this excursion aside from escaping the Blackwood Academy proper and its confines. After a few minutes he came to a small break in the trees caused by an outcrop of great boulders, the central rock taller than even Surtr and column-like. While the Blackwood facilities had a great breadth of training equipment few were strong enough to withstand the force he could exert. And, more to the point, he sometimes grew tired of holographic combat simulations.

Dirk approached the central boulder and started with a few experimental strikes, thick hands sending vibrations through the rock. Gradually his pace increased adding kicks, elbows and knees to the drill. The boulder shook as his power increased, grin breaking out beneath his dark eyes until a great crack like thunder echoed out – the huge rock cracked and shattered with every impact until it fell to pieces. Surtr caught the largest piece and kicked it at another rock, obliterating them both in the cloud of rock dust and noise. Satisfied he turned to another stone and began striking again, ignoring the pain in his limbs – He was not impervious to pain or harm but this training increased his tolerance.

Adrian glanced back at the newcomers, having moved on from the rifles to grenades and projectile weapons. He gave a polite greeting to Ronnie, but paused briefly when he laid eyes on Shun, before giving her the same courtesy.

I don't think this one's fully human...but I can't figure out what is wrong. He frowned slightly, contemplating whether he should investigate at a later date, or leave it be.

"I have no idea who the Crosses are, actually." Lucas said. He wondered how they were supposed to go about checking out the equipment. Was there a sign-out thing somewhere? But there were also grenades, which would be a little difficult to get back to the school after using them. There didn't seem to be any real limit on what they could take, so he put the pistol and some ammo in his suitcase, as well as four grenades. While Lina armed herself with the katana, she managed to catch Lucas' eye.

"Interesting. Do you give lessons?" He asked, as he went over to the academy's arsenal of melee weapons. After browsing for a moment, he found himself drawn to a steel broadsword, the blade gleaming brightly. He took it from the wall and put it in his suitcase as well, despite the fact that there was no way he should have been able to fit it in with all the other things.

She places the katana back on the wall as well.

"Hmm..... I'm not sure 'bout that. My style isn't exactly something I can teach.."

As he was wandering through the school's corridors, suddenly someone bumped into Charles.
"Ow!", the student reflexively exclaimed. He wasn't really hurt, but he had practiced acting as if he was. After all, once someone discovers that you're invulnerable, they never can leave it at that. And Charles was hoping not to be shot in the face on his first day.
"Oh, don't worry about it.", he finally replied to the girl, kneeling down to help her pick up her things.

Jackie nodded at the boy. He was kinda cute, in a geeky sort of way. Maybe some sort of super-smart gadget builder? Be that as it may, she needed to make some sort of friends. Too many villains had been brought down by their inability to trust.

"Thank you for that. I was just heading to the dorms. Want to come with? We could start getting to know each other a little better. It would make sense, since we're going to have to work together."

"Oh, you're welcome. It was no trouble at all.", the boy replied, then shrugging at the girl's suggestion.
"Sure! I don't see why not. Name's Charles. Charles Morton. Though I doubt we'll be cooperating much. They'll probably pit us against one another most of the time."
Well, at least he wouldn't be completely alone in this school it seemed. However there was one important question to be answered - could he trust this woman? After all she could very well be one of the spies that were supposed to be prowling the grounds of this institute.
Maybe he'd better keep the specifics of his powers a secret until the intruders have been caught.

That's pretty much what we aim for... Adrian thought as he stored a few different types of grenades. Still, he couldn't learn more about his acquaintances without showing a few of his own cards...

"We are assassins. Children of darkness." Although Adrian's words may seem a bit melodramatic, it was still better than outright saying "I'm a legacy of Erebus" He grabbed a garrotte wire and the rifle he had been inspecting earlier, before looking around for a checkout counter of some sort.

Ronnie noted the fact they were examining the weapons closely, and smiled, "'Course, with what I can do, I don't really need a physical weapon like these."

And what Darksword I can do, and III, and IV when he comes around... He noted to himself on something of a resigned note.

"Shiun" however looked first at Adrian and then at the girl who seemed to smell something, but then immediately spoke on the topic of fighting styles, "Oh oh, can there be a spar? I like watching that! Like OMG so cool!"

The dorm rooms were well-appointed, to say the least. There was a common room with a big-screen TV and a full kitchen and fridge. Each student got their own dorm room, with a sizeable dresser, comfortable bed, and a desk with a high-end desktop computer and printer for planning their next exploits.

Jackie looked around the place with a rather appreciable smile. "Not bad. Not bad at all." She sank into a couch, glancing at Charles. "So, did you bring a costume with you, or are you not that sort of person?" That seemed like a safe place to start.

Lina then approached the knives. Again, she took some off the wall and examined them. This time, though, she slid a few of the smaller ones into her sleeves. She briefly wondered if they were even allowed to take weapons in the first place. Then she remembered that even if they weren't, she didn't care.

"Eh, I'm not in the mood for a fight right now. Plus I don't have my weapon."

"Now this is much more comfortable than I was expecting. Well, then again this school probably doesn't have to worry about taxes and such.", Charles remarked.
Responding to the girl he had arrived here with, he then replied:
"Yeah, I've got one. Might not be comfortable, but in my opinion the benefits outweigh the flaws. A costume provides anonymity so you can use your normal identity to interact with civilians without them fleeing, makes your villain identity more recognizable and most importantly allows for more customisation and inclusion of gadgest and such than normal clothing ever could. And what about you?"

Dirk continued to train for some time, sweat gradually prickling onto his forehead and blood running from his arms, mingling with the stone dust. Soon there was little rock left to work with, producing a lull in the thunderous sound. A sneeze came from behind him, one he recognised. Without a moment’s hesitation Surtr took a largish rock fragment and spun around, hurling it at a seemingly empty space in the tree line.

“Ah! Fuck!” Came a familiar voice – Johnny, the resident ‘master of invisibility’ stumbled back, blood streaming from his leg and body appearing in pieces. Dirk made a scowling expression best described as terrifying, “Eet stront, kanker flicker!” He boomed, striking the teen with another stone this time impacting his forehead and leaving Johnny knocked out cold. “Kanker aap smeerlap…” He muttered in dutch, a s irk of satisfaction creeping onto his lips as he saw the boy was still breathing. He gripped him by the lapel and trudged back to the Academy grounds, tossing the boy onto the grass. Johnny woke and cried out in fear, limping away and swearing – Dirk laughed coldly and strode towards his dorm. There were two of the younger students from the hall there chatting. He eyed them suspiciously but then nodded and grunted to them, still covered in blood and sweat.

In response, Jackie dug out her costume. It wasn't much, and she'd basically made it by sewing together two of those spandex costumes so ubiquitous at sporting events, but it was hers. "The black and white was a natural choice, given that I basically have a split personality. That's also why I chose Jacqueline Hyde for my alias.

Oh, and before you ask, this is my good side."

Seeing how the girl was retrieving her costume, Charles went on to do the same.
"The dark colours are for stealth. It's modeled after medieval plague doctors.", he commented.
"My alias is "The Harbinger" by the way. And did you say split personality? Sounds unhealthy...but I don't really know much about psychology, so hi, other you I guess."
Charles then was surprised by a grunt coming from behind him. As he turned around he spotted a monster of a man, covered in an ominously red substance.
"I really hope that's his blood and he's looking for the nurse's office...", he muttered.

Dirk looked down at the strange, pale boy and cocked his head to the side – silent for a few moments as if he was assessing them both. He saw their costumes, home-made affairs with dramatic flair nonetheless. His charismatic grin slowly spread across his lips and a deep laugh escaped, the twin voids of his eyes glinting and he gave Charles a friendly smack on the shoulder. It left an imprint of stone dust and red, “This time you can be hopeful, yes.” The gigantic man chuckled and winked to the pair, Surtr retrieved a red handkerchief from his pocket and wiped the worst of the blood off himself then Charles’ shoulder, “I apologise. “ He bowed slightly, then extended a hand to the girl, “You are new to the Academy, I have not seen you before. I am Dirk Van De Schim, also called Surtr.” He stated, the two seemed lucky to catch Dirk’s good side for the time being.

Lucas' eyebrows rose as Adrian exposited upon his nature as a child of darkness. It was pretty badass. Lucas made a mental note to prepare a little speech like that himself. He nodded, not sure what to say. Melodramatic it was, but they were supervillains. It came with the territory, really.

"I not ready to fight yet." Lucas said to Shiun. Had she just said OMG? Why was she so noisy? Well, it took all types, he supposed, and her enthusiasm was nice. Still, maybe he'd have to invest in some nice earphones if he got paired with her for group work. He figured he had everything he needed. His focus wasn't really with conventional weapons, though they were useful.

"What do you mean your style can't be taught?" Lucas asked Lina. His tone wasn't one of indignation, but of curiosity. "If it makes you feel better, I'll tell you my powers first." He smiled very slightly. "I'm Batman. I've got none." Telling the others his powers was a gesture of friendship. But it was a very calculated one. He doubted it would be that much of a hindrance. After all, he'd probably need to show it off in class tomorrow anyhow.

"Oh? Interesting.." Lina inwardly raised an eyebrow at Lucas's reveal.

Is he trying to make me underestimate him or something?... Batman, huh..

"... If I'm being honest though, my style isn't even really a style. Just an amalgam of moves I thought looked cool. It does rely on my powers quite a bit, though. Hence why it can't be taught."

A person big enough to be an escaped Sasquatch, covered in blood, and speaking in an accent so thick you could cut it with a knife. Now that's something you don't see every day. Jackie was clearly intimidated, right up to the point when the big guy started cleaning himself up and apologizing for the mess.

"That's a relief. You looked like something out of a bad horror movie. Nice to see you're more of the gentle giant stereotype. Though if that's the case, why are you here?"

Jackie's response prompted a wider grin from Dirk - he admired her gall to make a joke despite her clear intimidation. "A bad horror movie?" He commented with a faux wounded expression before returning to his usual expression. However when he though of why he was at the Academy his expression became distant, dark - visions of blood and fire and screaming insanity filled his mind. "Blood, fire and my revenge against this world... My alias is a threat, not a title." He rumbled after a few moments. Dirk shook off these memories and returned to his charismatic grin, "But not against you, yes?" He laughed the thought off, "Why have you taken this path?"

Dirk usually wasn't this talkative but Jackie and Charles reminded him of his family in some ways. It also helped that he worked out much of his frustrations on rocks and Nosy Johnny's head.

"Ever heard of the 'Mad Magical Martins'? Evil sorcerers par excellance, usually serving as hosts for demons? I'm the latest in the line, though I'll admit that my magic isn't very good."
