BBC showed someone tweeted refugee papers of one of the terrorists. Forgot the name.
I live in Michigan, the US state with the largest Muslum-American population. Governor Snyder has previously declared that he wanted to welcome as many Syrian refugees as possible. Now we says that he wants to delay immigration for awhile, while the government reviews it's policies and procedures. This is basically code for "We're going to wait until the media shit-storm recedes."
Not necessarily a bad idea. Giving the sensationalists their red meat only hurts immigration efforts. Once they find something else to focus on, things can go back to normal, which can only help the state.
I think it is a bad idea, because it lets ISIS win. We should stand to the refugees more than ever because they fled from the terror we are now experiencing.
As the cowards, hungry for votes politicians they are, they appeal to fear while is a "trend". Not allowing the terror to spread is a courageous decision, that obviously, as the little worms this governors are, they don't know what is.
There is a Death Note quote out there about this.
You claim that God is opressing us, but I see you opressing others without needing a God.The sensationalism is obviously a bad idea. Synder is probably doing the best he can given the circumstances. I'm fairly confident that a few weeks from now, Michigan will start letting Syrian immigrants back in again.
Ben Carson mentioned in a press statement that refugee background checking are meant to weed out "rabid dogs".
If only Republican primary candidate checks did that...

...still hope we can help the cubans though.

It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.I didn't even get my report in. And I'm normally the one who summons the mods.

Hmm, even the security guards are starting to lose patience with the refugee centers. Fights tend to break out, there's an unfounded rumour going around you can stay in Finland if you are hospitalised, so they pretend to be sick. I wouldn't be surprised if the government would call in even more Military Police to assist the situation.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"I assume most of the refugees are just fine and you speak of a minority?
Well, vast majority are males (some former Iraqi military), and feelings get very heated when food is concerned, maybe a few sunni/shia issues. I can't say majority (neither can my friends) since group fights affect everyone. Nothing really serious though, it's more of a challenge of every day order, for now.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleEurope split over refugee deal as Germany leads breakaway coalition
This is a bit strange because there has been little to no mention of Merkel trying to create a "coalition of the willing" for tackling the refugee crisis in German media (of course, "coalition of the willing" has a bad connotation in German ever since the Iraq war). The media mostly focused on the EU-Turkey deal that would encourage Ankara to make the refugees stay in Turkey while getting quite a lot of money for it, in addition of quotas for refugees who are directly settled from Turkey across the EU.
Well, no wonder. The only way to persuade some folks at accepting any kind of quota other than zero would have to be at gun point.

Didn't the deal also allow Turkish citizens to freely travel within the EU?

Si Vis Pacem, Para Perkele
The Polish-German negotiations should be especially interesting. I expect that there'll be a lot of deals on different topics, e.g. "You-want-us-to-take-in-muslims? Than-stop-your-resistance-towards-Nato-bases-east-of-the-Oder" or something like that.
I think it only offered the prospect that if everything does fine with the negotiations, the EU could allowe free travel after 1 year or so.

It's not called the Butthurt Belt◊ for nothing.
Si Vis Pacem, Para PerkeleI assume that Serbia isn't included in the belt only because the map shows it controlling Kosovo?
Edit: Wait I'm blind, Kosovo is on there, so why is Serbia not part of the belt?

All of the attackers came from France or Belgium bar one, as far as I know. The only one who might have come from Syria isn't entirely certain to have:
The 25-year-old from Syria's city of Idlib is believed to have died after he blew himself up at Stade de France stadium.
A Syrian passport bearing his name was found at the scene.
Investigators are still trying to establish whether the passport is genuine - so this may not be the actual identity of the attacker.
The Paris prosecutor's office said fingerprints from the attacker matched those of a person who came to Europe with migrants via the Greek island of Leros.
