DIO noticed the strange devil girl at the map. He decided to stroll over and greet her.

"Hello. I'm the representative of the new chunk that just came in. You may call me DIO."

Outworld Arena

At the Outworld arena, final preparations were quickly being made for the upcoming event. The seats around the arena were filled with people. Guard presence within the structure was very high, with guards stationed all around the area and within the arena in case anything happened. Shao Kahn himself sat within a gigantic seat near the front, eager to begin, with his new daughter Meleena standing next to him. In the center of the arena, Kitana was being dragged to the center of the arena and begining to be chained to two gigantic posts.

Outside the arena, guard presence, while still strong, was not as high as inside, the guards mostly being focused on the entrances, with foot patrols guarding the walls. with decent timing, Bond should be able to sneak over to the wall and get into position to make his move.

The Cure-Common Room

"Fine." He waved his hand, the black energy appearing around it. "You will need to fix it yourself, however." With that statement, the captain was thrown hard across the room. Had he been a human, the force of the throw likely would have shattered half the bones in his body. Luckily for him, he was not a human, and so he would likely not take any major injures from the throw.

Shang Tsung-Meeting Room

"I advise you mobilize a good portion of your forces. The enemy consists of gigantic metal constructs." Shang Tsung passed over a piece of paper that held Baraka's report, including a description of the robot he had seen, which would likely greatly remind him of Megatron and cause him to make the connection of just who's chunk he was about to invade, if he had not already. "This will be a two pronged assault. We will attack first on their border, test their might as we press against their border. Draw their attention. Then you will move your forces in and hit them from the side."

Vault Hunter Team Two-Killy Krooza Too

"Oh god, what the fuck is it..."

That was all Axton had time to say as the waves blasted the team across the room, shattering their shields as they smashed into the wall, covered in the green vomit.

Krieg, meanwhile, screamed in pain as the bones in his short arm started snapping as it was twisted, the pain causing him to strike at the Nob's neck even harder then before.

Castlevania Underground Caverns: Back On Track

"Don't you think I know that?" Hei snapped at Trevor. "Of course it wants us divided. The question isn't what it's doing, but why it's doing it.

"I'll head further in to find Dracula. Hopefully it won't be as much of a hassle, but I'm prepared to fight my way through.

"Dante, you could try to find the Castlevania portal, but I don't think we have any idea where it is. But you and I both came through the Santa Destroy portal. It might be a longer trip, but at least you won't be wasting time wandering through the castle."

Genosha Darkholme Residence: A New Direction

For a moment, Amber seemed to stare off into space. What did the Cure do to Hei? Why did he want to see her? How was she supposed to speak with him in private? Thoughts like these buzzed through her head as she quietly accepted his offer.

When the blue portal opened, she turned from Raven to Kurt.

"Thank you once again for letting me spend the night. I have a meeting to attend, but hopefully I'll be back soon. Till then, take care!"

And with that, she walked through the portal and vanished.

-The shoota boys shot down, the weirdboy is an easy target for the turret. Gripping his staff, he floats about the hangar at random until finally slamming into Ardnock's back.-

Really, brainboy? Really?

-Releasing his grip on the 'umie'z arm, the nob opts for a simpler approach, grabbing his hammer with both hands and swinging it into its face, in spite of the gush of blood spraying from his throat.-

Common Room

-Kaptin Bluddflagg stands up, wheezing. Both orks stand silently in front of him, neither wanting to be the first to bring him the bad news.-

*hrrrh* wuzzappened?

Er, da demon dok didn't want ta give us everyfin' we wanted, boss.

Said we could only get wun at a time.

An' we couldn't get da krooza back... But we can fix it now, 'e sez.

-Bluddflagg appears to take the news with remarkable aplomb.-

-The orks look at each other.-

Wot, Brikkfist? Er, zoggin' git, never trusted 'im for a-

Kaptin, I wasn't desertin', I was rekonetorizin' dem Chaos crazies! Dey's all dead now!

-As the Kaptin moves on Spookums to explain exactly what he thinks of orks running off to recornize in the middle of a Waaagh!, Nailbrain glances at the map.-

Um... Kap'n?

Not now Mr. Nailbrain, I'z still disciplinin' me krew.

Kap'n, ya know I wouldn't normally, but 'e's right.

-Dropping Spookums, the Kaptin tromps over to the map.-

'Owzat den?

Look, sez we owns some place called da Citadel now. Da demon dok sed we'd taken it.

S'right... boss...

An' ya fink dat makes it all better do ya? We'ze got big chunks of land wiv nuffin' ta show fer it!

-Spookums reluctantly removes the Bullet Farmer's head from its hook.-

Wunna da Chaos crazies had 'imself a hat made of dakka, so I sed to meself, "Spookums, dat's a hat fit fer da Kap'n!" So I killed 'im and brought it to ya.

-Bluddflagg examines the hat.-

Dante-Castlevania Cave

"Ah, don't worry about that, I think I got a good idea where it's probably gonna be. Alright, let's do this then. Oh, before I forget." Dante quickly took out a buisness card with the words "Devil May Cry" written on the top and handed it to Hei. "My number. I'd give one to you too Trevor, but you don't have a phone. Lady will have my number. Alright, later!" Dante said as he quickly sprinted off.

Sure enough, Dante had guessed correctly as he left the cave and saw the gates of Castlevania, with the blue portal outside of it. He quickly sneaked over and entered while the guards were distracted about something he didn't catch the exacts of.

The Cure-Common Room

As Amber entered, the Cure waved her over. "You are no doubt a bit confused why you have been summoned. To make it simple, Hei has proven very uncooperative. He ignored my summons last night to come here, and continues to attempt to defy me. So I am removing him from his role as representative of your people. This means a replacement is required. After consideration, I have decided that you are the best suited for this role. If you accept, then your first task will be to select a reward. While Hei has annoyed me, many of your other people have been active, and I see no reason to continue to handicap you by denying a reward. You may ask for anything you wish. Anything you desire I can do. Bring back people from the dead, provide advanced equipment for you, perhaps bolster your abilities to a small extent. It is up to you.

Dante-Common Room

Inside the Common Room, dante quickly stepped around a small group of what appeared to be at least one human and a rather intact looking zombie, then hopped up onto the table in the center of the Common Room, holding up his hands.

"People, can I have your attention please! For those who don't know me, my name's Dante. I'm a Demon Hunter, part of one of the chunkless groups, and I'm issuing a PSA to everyone on Battleworld! Me and a couple of my buddies just fought against a powerful demon, a guy who can perfectly impersonate anyone you know. This guy took down a woman I knew for over 10 years and managed to impersonate her so completely that even I didn't know the difference. We're not sure what it wants yet, but whatever it is, it can't be good for anyone! So, I'm looking for volunteers to help us track this thing down and kill it! I'd prefer people who have experience with killing demons or stuff like demons, but I'll take anyone who's willing."

Meanwhile, Nora, Misaki, Junpei, and Akihiko might all notice the similarities that Dante had with Vergil, including the white hair, eyes, a long coat only made different by the fact that Dante's was red rather then blue and much less elaborate, and a sword, again slightly different in style with the sword being much thicker then Vergil's, much like the one Junpei uses.

Common Room

"Oh its much alright. Its just not the first time some one told me to cover my face. You know boys, they are the worst. Hey, Howell, you would be so much hotter if no one had to look at you god ugly face. Bunch jerks they are. So when you suggested the same I was scared there was some universal consensus going on, you know?"

When Mataro took off his mask, Kimmy was all oohs and aahs again.

"That's so cool. So everyone where you come from wears masks? Is it a religious type thing or is it imperative for your health? Your culture is so interesting. I wish I could go all Dances with Wolves in Kokoro and learn all about it."

When Turaga Nuju seemed to be admonishing them she gave him an apologetic look.

"Sorry..."

It was at this point that Kimmy felt a tap on her shoulder.

"Hello Kimmy."

"Oh, hi Miss Christel."

"I noticed there is yet another new chunk, this one right next to Santa Destroy, care to tell me why I wasn't informed of this?"

Sylvia didn't show any anger as talked to the young girl. She was a professional con artist and was quite adept at displaying only the emotions she wanted others to see. Still, she was finding it increasingly difficult dealing with this girl in the short time she had hired her for this task. At least the pacification field helped her from murdering this girl in the middle of the common room for all to witness.

"I was right about to, I swear! Just been busy minding the booth, a queue is even starting to form. But that is him right there, the blonde. Doesn't really look Egyptian does he? But then I never been to Egypt. Think we are going to fight mummies? Oh, that would be scary."

Sylvia tuned out Kimmy's rambling as she looked over the new arrival. She wasn't able to get a good read on him. Sylvia was used to dealing with all sorts of people, she didn't care whether they were good or bad people, only whether they were beneficial to her. What she didn't like was not knowing where a person stood in the scheme of things, not knowing meant not knowing how to exploit them. She would have to watch him closely til she figured out if he was a tool to a used or an obstacle to be overcome. She turned her attention back to Kimmy.

"So who else needs to visit the info booth?"

"Oh yes, the young lady over there and the old monkey."

Kimmy pointed to Minna and Cranky respectively. Sylvia gave the two a look over. She recognized the monkey from the first day. The other she never saw before. The military uniform suggested Folkestone. She carried herself professionally enough, the stiff back she recognized with military types, but the girl wasn't wearing pants. She wasn't sure what to make of this.

"I'll take care of the young lady, see to the other."

"okie dokie"

Sylvia released Kimmy and made her way to Minna, tapping her on the shoulder.

"I am sorry for the wait. I am with Santa Destroy. I heard you had some questions for us?"

Kimmy herself quickly turned back Mataro.

"Oh, I would love to hear more, but I got to help out this other customer first alright?"

She turned toward the old ape.

"Hello. I'm Kimmy Howell, and I can answer all your questions. How can I help you?"

As she spoke the smile already on her face seemed to grow even larger until it seemed to burst in audible squee.

"Oh my god, you are sooooo adorable! With those little glasses and the beard. You are just like one of those giant stuffed animals you can win at the fair! I just want to take you home with me!"

She brought hand to her blushing cheeks, giggling. Across the room, a smile became plastered on Sylvia's face, doing her best not to show her desire murder the intern.

When Dante made his announcement, Kimmy got into mock fighting pose.

"I will help you kill the demon!"

"Kimmy!"

"Oh...well, I would, but I got work...sorry."

Sylvia kept her ear on Minna as she considered the benefits of sending someone to help with the quest. She waited to see who took up the demon hunter on his offer before planing anything.

Bladehenge/Santa Destroy Border - Skelter Helter

Skelter Helter brought the motor cycle to a complete stop when the projectiles fired out in his path and instinctively brought his hands to his handle of his two weapons. He kept them there as he eyed the two women. whether he was checking them out or sizing them up was up for debate.

"The name is Skelter Helter, remember it. Just here to do alittle sight seeing, that won't be a problem will it?"

A grey white Scottish Fold peaked out from behind the monochrome youth and mewed.

Bamboo Forest/Santa Destroy Border

Behind the trio came the neigh maniacal laughter of a man who has found salvation. A ragged looking cop came running from the forest and passed them, going out to the middle of the road before falling to his knees at the sight of the city in the distance.

"Oh, thank you thank you thank you! I have been lost in that forest all night. I was beginning to think I was going to die in there. But there it is, home sweet home, Santa Destroy. Oh thank you."

Meanwhile in orbit, the mechanical eye of a Russian made satellite was collecting data on the Lunarian. Confounded by what she was, it sent out a signal to the lost cosmonaut, Capt Vladimir Taktarov.

Mami's Apartment

"Hmph." Nonetheless, despite Kyoko's less-than-100%-enthusiasm at combing the whole city (again), she stepped out to the balcony and looked out. "It'd be easier to find them if we split up then called - which side you want?" She glanced briefly to each half of the city visible from the balcony - towards the west to the left and towards the east (where they actually were) to the right.

Madoka continued to stand there looking worried when she got a thought. "What about Mami-san?" She quickly looked down for her cell phone but discovered to her dismay..."Oh, it's out of batteries!"

Common Room

...well, that answers her question, at least. Homura had been ready to pick something if this had been a use-it-or-lose-it situation, but Minako's response told her it wasn't.

Minako's somewhat exaggerated response threw Homura for a small loop momentarily before she calculated that, with this apparent new guy standing right there and her previous proclamation of purveying a position of prudent neutrality, Minako was feigning non-recognition. As much as Minako's last sentence could have been answered differently, Homura simply shook her head a little bit. "I'm fine." She then turned around and started heading back towards the portal that brought her here, sending her request to The Cure via secure-link telepathy: <I would like to do the same with mine.> She did stop for a moment a few meters along when Dante made his announcement - yet another possible threat she'd have to be aware of.

Mitakihara - West Branch Library - Mio, Yoshika, Lynette

Mio nodded.

"Magic exists," she stated calmly. "And all of us three are Witches."

Common Room - Minna

"Thank you."

Minna thanked the Cure, and turned to leave for the Base. However, before she could get that far, many things happened in rapid succession.

First was the arrival of Dante, a demon hunter. A demon impersonating people was at large? They would have to introduce security measures. By now, she had stopped getting surprised at what was and was not on the Battleworld. But demon hunting was outside the 501st' line of work.

Then, she was approached by Sylvia, and Minna was reminded of her initial reason for coming to the Common Room. What a glamorous woman...yet she gave off such a strange feeling of coldness.

"Yes, that's right," Minna said. "I am Wing Commander Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke, commanding officer of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing and Folkestone Air Base. I have some questions about the Battleworld Coverage Network."

Castlevania - Witches' Coven - Gertrud and Erica

The answer made Gertrud's blood go cold. So, the situation was perhaps even worse than Minna had first reported. After a moment of silence, however, she spoke up. She had a mission, after all.

"...I should go back and report this to my commander," Getrud said. "But before that, I have orders to establish communication with the government here, and confirm our peaceful intentions. Would that be possible?"

Meanwhile, at Folkestone Air Base

Shirley had just gotten out of the shower when there was a knock on the door. She would have preferred a bath in the luxurious Fuso-style bath, but the acting commanding officer couldn't spend an hour having a good soak. Yeah, a long bath and a nice beer-

There was another knock on the door. Shirley finished getting dressed and came out. A guard regiment officer was waiting outside and saluted her as she emerged. The stationed soldiers had a great degree of admiration for the Strike Witches, and would serve their guardian angels with their lives.

"What's happening, soldier?"

"Something incredible has happened outside, commander. The walls just grew cannons."

"...what?"

"You need to come see for yourself, commander. It's too fantastic to describe."

Shirley did as he said, and they hurried out on the nearest balcony. Around the island, several fortified naval artillery batteries had mysteriously appeared at key locations, merging seamlessly with the old walls and already existing anti-air batteries. It was like they had always been there. Yet they hadn't been there ten minutes ago.

"...do they look any good?"

"The gunners say that they're the most impressive cannons they'd ever seen, and I believe them. They look they'll punch right through a battleship. And the gunners say that they'll be able to operate them, too."

"How? I mean, if they haven't seen them before?"

"They couldn't explain it. They just had an...affinity for it, they say. They'll be ready to do firing tests in short time."

"Huh, sounds good."

"...Commander, can I ask a question?"

"Yeah?"

"Do you know how this happened?"

"Nope. But..." and Shirley smiled. "I think Wing Commander Wilcke knows."

"Oh. Think I can set that up for you." Dante glanced in the direction of the Castlevania portal, seeing Dracula's human wife standing next to it still.

"Hey, Drac's wife! Sorry, didn't catch your name! This guy wants to talk to Dracula. Could you do me a favor and take him to Dracs for me? I'd go, but he's probably not happy with me right this second, and I gotta try to get more people here."

Nora - Common Room

It wasn't long before someone came to introduce himself. It was a man in a black robe, not the best of attires in Nora's opinion, but a territory representative was a representative.

"I'm Nora from New Hell," the white-haired woman introoduced herself. "I'm our representative's supervisor, so if she ever causes trouble, just let me know."

It was at that point that she noticed Dante. At first she didn't pay much attention to him, but after a second glance upon mentioning that he was a demon hunter, she realized he looked... somewhat familiar.

"Hey, quick question," the horned devils asked, this time addressing Dante. "You don't happen to know this white-haired man that dropped by our place, do you? Blue coat, short hair, very skilled at pissing people off? Kind of looks like you, that's why I'm asking."

Lune - Forest, New Hell

"I wouldn't call them 'false,' you know," the green-haired devil replied, starting to float on her back as if she was lying on a bed. "They still draw their power from the souls of humans, just like they did ages ago. That part hasn't really changed."

She stretched for a few seconds before turning face-down once again, not even trying to hide the smirk on her face.

"In fact, back in Old Hell, you'd have probably ended up trapped in a soul farm or something. You got the kind of attitude that gave them loads of energy back in the day."

Vergil-New Hell

Vergil continued walking right up until Lune mentioned the soul farm. At this point he stopped walking. Then he turned around.

"I told you already, girl. I am not a human." At this point 4 blue spectral swords formed around Vergil's head, pointed directly at Lune. "Must I provide a demonstration before you get that through your head?"

Dante-Common Room

"Ah, damn it. You have the worst timing bro, I swear." Dante said to the ceiling. "Sadly yes I know him, he's my brother. We....don't get along, to put it lightly."

Lady-Santa Destroy

Lady pushed herself upright, trying and failing to hide the panic she had been feeling for the past several hours.

"Yes, yes, I'll....I'll be fine. Are they nearby? We have to regroup right away, none of us can take this thing on our own. Tell me what it did since I've been in that closet."

As he waited, Cranky noticed Dante speaking about a shape shifting demon that's on purposely trying to sow discourse among the territories. The old Kong was worried about this of course. He would definitely to warn people about -

Kimmy then spoke with him.....or, more accurately, reacted to Cranky. The Kong stared at her wide-eyed, jaw dropped.

A beat.

Donkey Kong noticed the exchange, and started backing away from the booth rather nervously.

Cranky growled......his face turned red.......

"WHAT THE HELL KIND OF SERVICE IS THIS CRAP?!?" the Kong yelled at Kimmy, his fist slamming onto the booth counter. "I come expecting to speak with someone concerning this contract, and the very first response I get is being patronized?! Do I look like some stuff animal to you?! Some random ape for me to dance around for your amusement?! Maybe juggle some pineapples to complete the picture, HUH?!? You disrespectful - you're probably one of those airheaded Japanophiles that go all "kawaii~desu~" all the goddamn time to realize when ACTUAL PEOPLE are talking to you!! Bet the company must've been scrapping through the bottom of the barrel if they hired you of all people! Are you even out of high school?! Your employers must be stupider than YOU if YOU'RE in charge of international relations!

"I DEMAND to speak with you supervisor!!" Cranky said, pointing his cane at Kimmy's face. The anti-aggression field in the room was the only thing preventing the Kong from actually bashing the girl across the face with it. "I sure as Hell hope you lose yer job over this! A coupla months on welfare oughta learn ya how to treat people with dignity and respect!!"

The Matoran standing next to Cranky could easily tell the ape was insulted at a deep, fundamentally personal level......but responded in a way that was the verbal equivalent to whatever they thought was as bad as dropping a nuke on the instigator.

Lisa, Common Room

Lisa was beginning to notice that things were happening rather rapidly in regards to events concerning Castlevania. First, Edge and SONG HQ disappeared and Cairo replaced where Edge was, and its representative, Dio Brando, had entered into the Common Room. Then Minako Arisato, leader of SEES, blurted out about all the various neighbors of Cairo. Then Dante appeared out of the portal to Castlevania, warning of a powerful demon. Now Dio Brando was interested in meeting her husband and Dante revealed that she was his wife.

"My name is Lisa, and at the moment, I am not so sure," Lisa crossed her arms and frowned. "There are quite a number of odd circumstances that my husband will not be happy about."

"First, some horseless carriage went into our land's portal and second, you, a self-admitted demon hunter, came out of our portal," Lisa noted to Dante and turned to Minako. "Third, the leader of SEES. a supposedly neutral group, told the leader of Cairo all about my husband and now he seeks audience with my husband."

"Mr. Brando, assign a time when you wish to meet with my husband, and he will meet you in one of the Meeting Rooms in here at that time," Lisa declared the terms of the meeting of the representatives of Castlevania and Cairo.

"My husband will also likely be in the Common Room at some point today to discuss his terms for the Battleworld Coverage Network, assuming you've sent the same thing to him as you did all these other chunks," Lisa had glanced over at Sylvia and then glanced towards Dante. "And if this demon has shown itself to be an enemy to my husband, he will want to discuss the matter as well."

Lisa was unhappy at having to do the political thing since Dracula has more skill at it, but her husband had given her a few guidelines just in case something happened in the Common Room that might require his attention.

Trude & Erica, Witches' Coven, Castlevania

"At the moment, the Lord of the Castle is dealing with repelling an incursion on his land, but I can put in a good word for Folkestone and schedule one of your representatives for a meeting with him or one of his representatives in the Common Room," Salome explained to Gertrude. "He has no issues in regards to witches."

Grant & Alucard, Bamboo Forest/Santa Destroy Border

When the ragged Santa Destroy officer finally made it out of the Bamboo Forest, driven near made from being lost in the Bamboo Forest, Grant pointed at the officer as if to empathize what had just happened.

"Point made," Grant merely stated to Reisen.

"Maybe he can help you," Alucard suggested to Reisen.

Sypha, Santa Destroy Inn

"Sit down," Sypha said, a serious expression on her face. Once Lady was seated, Sypha continued. "What it did was mimic you, Lady."

"It was a perfect imitation in every way," Sypha admitted, quite disturbed at the implications. "None of us even knew you were replaced until one of Dracula's minions, Death, forced it to reveal itself."

"We are sure it is not one of Dracula's, since it was trying to push me to kill him," Sypha continued. "I was not quite sure what to do or who to trust anymore, but knew you at least needed saving, so I went with that."

"I do not know if they are nearby, but I would rather be alone for a while," Sypha told Lady.

Common Room

The half-genie showed surprise in her expression as Mikado showed excitement about having a wish from The Cure. Now she learned that he was able to grant wishes towards people that would entertain him in Battleworld. He toned his glee down and told Shantae that it was up to a "seniority thing". As Shantae was wbout to ask him about the wish, he pointed out a group of people that she could start talking to, with a hint of anticipation in his eyes and his voice. In response, she gestured over to Misaki, signaling to Mikado that it was all right for the teen to talk to her. His anticipation to talking to the girl struck Shantae as a bit weird, but she would more or less be alright to follow him, as to continue to be on his good side and not risk making an enemy this early.

"Be my guest. You're the vet here in Battleworld, guy..." she said as she walked over to Misaki's general direction. "You seem really excited don't you?"

Scuttle Town's Borders

The tanks roared through the outskirts of Scuttle Town moving towards the borders of Scuttle Town. The tanks moved with a moderate speed and the tanks were aimed and primed to attack anyone that may attack the oncoming envoy. The guards looked forward at the border coming closer and closer to their view, and upon seeing what appeared to be mountains at the distance and another town across the border, they picked up their speed and pushed forward. Anyone on the other side of the border would hear the heavy machinery as it moved over to their border.

The tanks weren't the only ones on the move towards the border. The legion of Tinkerbats had also scurried to the outskirts of Scuttle Town, their cutthroat leader Risky Boots leading the way. Seeing the amounts of tanks moving towards the border made Risky audibly sigh. Ammo Baron doesn't know a thing out there and already he's trying to take over something out there. she said as she ran over to the border with her Tinkerbats in tow.

The Common Room

"Well... if we don't wear a mask we fall asleep," said Matoro, still slightly embarrassed by his rather brazen (by his cultural standards, anyway) display of the limitations of Matoran. "We feel dizzy, sick, weak... then we collapse." He wrung his hands together, not even liking the mere thought crossing his mind. "It's not very nice to talk about," he explained sheepishly.

It was around this point that Cranky arrived. The two closest beings - Nuju and Matoro- were more than a little taken aback by Cranky's rather explosive outburst; Nuju whistled something under his breath while Matoro looked for something - or someone - to hide behind. After a few seconds of hesitation, the little Matoran wound up behind Kimmy's leg, doing his best to turn invisible.

"Is there a problem over here?" That was Kopaka; the Toa had broken off from his observations and headed back over to his people. The phrase 'the temperature in the room dropped' was, in most cultures, a mere expression, but when negotiating with a Toa of Ice the expression was all too literal. Anyone in the immediate area would probably feel a sudden gust of cold wind as the Toa stared at Cranky and Kimmy.

Iacon

An 'oil' house? said Gali, intrigued. "Sounds like a plan. Lead the way." With that, the Toa holstered both of her tools; along with Lewa

"An oil house! Always wanted to go to an oil house!" agreed Lewa grandly as he started walking.

"What's an oil house?" he whispered to Lewa when he was certain Tap-Out wouldn't hear.

"No idea."

Genosha

Once again, the Matoran seemed more confused than ever as the mechanic spoke. "Oh." Hewkii said as he pondered over the possibility. "As far as I know, Matoran don't ever become mothers or fathers or anything; Matoran just exist. We work for one another, and as we work... we make the Great Spirit happy. That's what Matoran do."

Macku pointed to the sky. "The Great Spirit brought us to our island," she repeated. "He descended from Paradise in the time before time..." she trailed off, "... but I shouldn't tell you the story. Our Turaga, Nokama- she's our village leader- should be telling you these things." she confessed. "I mean, we were so confused, and we sort of..."

"stole" continued Hewkii,

"-borrowed- a boat to explore," said Marka. "We thought we could help out our villages by doing some exploration, but... well... I think we just made things worse." She waved at the man and flashed a smile at him. "Sorry we broke you," she said. "I guess we'll keep you away from lightstones from now on?"

DK Island

The small group of Matoran on the beach milled around for a few seconds when the strange creatures appeared. There was a bit of internecine murmuring- Whenua overseeing the impromptu debate- before the group split. Half of the Matoran were content to remain by the boats that had brought them; the other ten cautiously made their way down the path.

Among them were Onua and Whenua; the former leading the way while the Turaga brought up the rear, using his huge drill-spear as a walking stick.

DIO looked at Lisa quizzically as she spoke.

"Very well then. I shall return in a moments and wait for your husband."

He gives a slight bow then turns back to Dante.

"And I shall come with one of my strongest warriors."

He quickly walked out of the room and through the portal back to his room.

Cairo-Hidden Mansion

A wicked smile spread across DIO's face.

A man walked into his room, wearing blue face paint, a black bandana a heart shirt underneath a a pale blue coat.

"Lord DIO, you were absent this morning. Hol Horse reported an oddity in the desert. As well large chunks of the city have vanished without a trace. What is happening? Is this the work of a Stand?"

DIO only chuckled and looked at his butler.

"Gather Hol Horse and the others here, Telence. There is much ti discuss."

His servant Telence bowed and exited his room.

Castlevania Underground Caverns: Does the Reaper Dream of Darkness Darker Than Black?

Hei took the card and stowed it away. He bid his comrades farewell and ventured deeper into the caverns.

As he strolled through the light-hungry tunnels Hei meditated on the last fight. He shouldn't have lashed out like that, even if the bastard deserved every blow and then some. But the shape-shifter had a point: he didn't enjoy killing. Even Contractors prefer the peaceful route; it avoids injury and secures one's own survival.

But then why did he go for the kill over a few taunts?

Maybe Contractors aren't that stoic after all. That MI 6 agent essentially killed himself over an ideal; why should Hei be any less irrational? The only difference was that the MI 6 agent chose to die, and Hei chose...

He was thinking too hard. The monster was just spewing nonsense. None of it made a damn bit of difference to Hei, or changed what he needed to do. By the time the Black Reaper emerged from the caverns, he felt as determined to confront Dracula as he did in Santa Destroy.

Even if the creature lingered in the back of his mind.

Common Room: Curious Observations

Misaki analyzed the SEES leader from afar. The way she moved, the way she talked, the things she wanted to know, it didn't quite match up.

"Your leader's a bit strange," she murmured to Akihiko, "but I think it might be an act. There's a method to her madness that suggests she puts plenty of thought into her next move."

She turned her head towards the teen. "Besides, I've heard your plan and I've seen what you can do; it must take a remarkably clever person to keep your team on track."

Misaki shifted her attention when she heard the name "Amber." She knew an incredibly dangerous Contractor went by that name, but it was very possible that the Cure was talking to another Amber. Still, somehow that girl with the long blonde hair looked familiar.

Meanwhile Amber had kept focused on the Cure, though Dante's announcement distracted her for a second.

"Hei's been uncooperative? That sounds like him. I love the guy, but he can be quite childish sometimes; he doesn't like being told what to do."

Amber became playfully delighted, acting a little childish herself. "But my goodness, Cure. This is an honor! I can't say I represent most of Tokyo, but I'll do what I can for it. And you can be sure I'll behave myself.

"I do have a few questions first, if you don't mind. The first one's pretty simple, and maybe a little sentimental."

The playfulness ebbed to gentle concern, like a mother for her child's first day of school.

"About Hei: is he alright? He isn't hurt, is he"

Mitakihara Library West Branch

The Lieutenant and those near enough to have heard Mio all turned to look at her claim. The one who had originally caught sight of Lynette's shenanigans back at the highway looked especially alerted - he managed to get the attention of the Lieutenant and walked by the Witches en route to him, taking him a short distance away and speaking something quietly to the Lieutenant before the latter returned. "I see," he said finally, looking rather calm and collected about that kind of revelation. "Is that your explanation as to how your...equipment works?"

Mami's Apartment

"East looks good for me...you probably know this city better than I do, so I'll play it safe."

Ramlethal peered over at Madoka's cell phone and her ensuing dismay.

The Valentine briefly worried over Mami's well-being. She remembered that Kyoko's cell phone should still be working.

"Is it possible for you to try contacting Mami?"

"Shake the dust." - Anis Mojgani
