I agree. In fact, I think the OP suggestion is better in that page than the current image there, because I can't figure out what the original sign was supposed to say (for all we know, it was meant to say "hell").
It's a Shell gas station. I'm not sure what the European equivalent is (parent company's Royal Dutch Shell if that helps narrow it down any), but they're commonplace as heck in North America.
