Name: Halo

Real Name: Violet Harper

Gender: Technically-genderless femme-presenting space energy being.

Age: Physically 19. Chronologically, as old as the universe itself.

Appearance: Here.

Alignment: Good.

Personality: Halo is emotional, adventurous, and endlessly curious. She's fascinated by people who are cruel for no apparent reason, despite or possibly because of her kind, empathetic personality (likely what drew her to Violet in the first place). She's naive, but she's also clever and very willing to learn. As an immortal being, she's very aware of the limitations held by mortals (herself included though if her current body is destroyed, she could potentially jump to a new one), and she doesn't want to hurt anyone enough to kill them.

Violet is a textbook sociopath: manipulative, malicious, and devoid of empathy. She was genuinely skilled, but her tendency to underestimate her enemies is what ultimately led to her death.

Powers and Abilities: Halo has seven different colored auras, each with a unique ability. All of them allow her to fly and survive in the vacuum of space. In addition, as an Aurakle, she has the ability to 'read' energy, though it's extremely weak due to her human host body.

Red: blasts of concentrated heat capable of burning or melting through nearly anything

Orange: concussive force beams

Yellow: brilliant, blinding light

Green: a stasis beam that temporarily leaves her opponent unable to move, which lasts as long as Halo consciously maintains it

Blue: a holographic distortion effect

Indigo: a tractor beam that can push or pull objects

Violet: This aura would allow Halo to use all of her powers, but it would also give Violet Harper control over her body. As a result, Halo has yet to use it.

Prior to merging with the Aurakle, Violet had no superpowers. However, she was a skilled manipulator and street fighter with a photographic memory.

Origin: The Aurakles are immortal beings of pure energy, born from the Source Wall. Most Aurakles were interested purely in cosmic phenomena, but a single Aurakle became fascinated with mortal races, and started observing them. One mortal in particular caught the Aurakle's eye- a human from Earth named Violet Harper.

Violet Harper was born in an average, middle class household to Sam and Margaret Harper nineteen years ago. She was a troublemaker from a young age, but she was able to avoid the consequences of her actions by playing her parents off of each other. As an adolescent, she started engaging in petty crime, and she and her boyfriend Mark took up a job smuggling drugs for a crime ring. Violet tried to betray her employers, but they found out and killed her and Mark.

The Aurakle was saddened by Violet's death, and something about the cosmic alignment allowed her to enter the physical world, merging the Aurakle's consciousness with Violet's body. The Aurakle returned to the Harpers and stayed with them for a year. She grew to love them, but Violet's old associates found her and killed the Harpers. The Aurakle survived only because her powers suddenly activated. She drove off the gang members and arranged for her parents' funeral. Depressed and restless, the Aurakle adopted the name Halo and left Earth to see what the galaxy had to offer.

Halo was a character I followed from the beginning; I liked her a lot, and your ideas for her (Aurakles coming from The Source, her origin coming after the Harper's death since The Outsiders hadn't formed yet) work for me. (Btw I'm thinking of having The Source be the literal source of the Power Cosmic that most Cosmic Beings use.) So yeah, approved. smile

Wait, I thought Aurakles coming from the Source Wall was canon? I found it on the DC wiki, at any rate.

But thanks for approving, and I look forward to playing!

Not that I knew of, but then DC has tossed its continuity like a salad so many times I might have missed that.

Btw which costume will she be wearing? I hope it's the original (the one you linked to) as I always thought it was her best.

Well, whichever costume it is, I'm just glad to see Halo being used as an active character. Accepted.

Is superman available for this game?

  • Name: Superman
  • Real Name: Clark Kent/ Kal-El
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Early 30's
  • Appearance: the man of steel himself

  • Alignment: Good.
  • 'Personality: He is the ultimate goody two shows superhero. He always help people, he always fights for justice. Never cruel or cowardly, he never gives up, he never gives in.

The brilliance of his character is how a person from humble origins and the powers of a god opted to fight the good fight. He would never let an injustice happen around him

  • Powers and Abilities: Boy does he have superpowers. I read the power level is higher on this game so it should be ok:
  • Superspeed
  • Superstrenght
  • Flight
  • Heat vision
  • Invulneratability/Kryptonian toughness
  • Super hearing
  • Supervision

  • Weapons and Equipment: The man of steel doesn't believe in using weapons. He will always opt or a peaceful solution no matter what.

  • Origin: Coming from a dying land on the planet Krypton he was saved from destruction by the sacrifice of his parents. He was then raised by the Kents in smallville and then he got inspired to do the good fight.

While resting on his fortress of solitude, Superman has received a beacon as the princess of an alien civilization has asked him for help and he decided to use a spaceship to parts of space unknown to help as for his life he won't let any planet perish like his native planet Krypton once did.

I had nothing to do with this, Sijo, I swear!

Amusing stuff, Mr thedoctorpony, and a heck of a way to make an introduction. But in all seriousness, were any of those genuine applications?

I did my Justice Avengers history and I'm pretty sure nobody's done anything that would veto this. Here goes.

  • Name: Tarantula

  • Real Name: Kaine

  • Gender: Male

  • Age: Appears to be in his early 20s.

  • Appearance: Here. Kaine is 6'1.

  • Alignment: Good

  • Personality: Raised in a laboratory by the Roxxon Energy Corporation, "Kaine" (named after the unit he was created in) was conditioned to serve Roxxon's greedy interests as the second Tarantula. But through sheer force of will, Kaine refused to be brainwashed by his creators and was never allowed to carry out the mysterious plans of his corporate overlords as a result. Due to his lack of anything resembling a childhood, Kaine is naive, awkward in person and has few social skills. However, the time he spent on the outside world has imbued Kaine with a love for mankind and life as a whole, which he has vowed to protect from greedy entities such as his creators.

  • Powers and Abilities:

    • Superhuman Strength: Tarantula possesses superhuman strength enabling him to press lift a great deal of weight. He must pull his punches and kicks unless fighting someone of similar or greater physical durability, otherwise, his blows would prove fatal to a normal human being.

    • Superhuman Speed: Tarantula is capable of running and moving at speeds that are beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

    • Superhuman Stamina: Tarantula's augmented musculature is much more efficient than that of a normal human being. As a result, his muscles produce lesser amounts of fatigue toxins during physical activity than do those of ordinary humans. He can exert himself physically at peak capacity for at least several hours before the build up of fatigue toxins in his blood begins to impair him.

    • Superhuman Durability: Tarantula's body is tougher and more resistant to some types of physical injury than that of a normal human. Kaine's bodily tissues are resistant to powerful impact or blunt force trauma.

    • Superhuman Agility: Tarantula's agility, balance, and bodily coordination are enhanced to levels beyond the natural physical limits of the finest human athlete.

    • Superhuman Reflexes: Tarantula's reflexes are similarly enhanced and are more efficient than those of an ordinary human.

  • Weapons and Equipment: N/A

  • Origin:
    • Kaine was an unsuccessful attempt at cloning Antón Rodriquez, a mercenary who worked for the infamous Roxxon Energy Corporation as the first Tarantula. The samples obtained from Antón were incomplete, so a portion of Kaine's material was used from Miles Warren, one of the scientists in charge of his creation. Kaine was created to replace Antón, who was not available to work for Roxxon under mysterious circumstances. He was also given superhuman abilities in the event of a conflict between Roxxon and any superhero.

    • From his conception in a Houstonian laboratory, Kaine was conditioned to serve Roxxon's interests and their interests alone. Any action he did or any word he said that did not support Roxxon resulted in extreme punishment. Much of his "childhood" was spent learning the ways of corporate espionage, political destabilization, and the wonderful services that the Roxxon Energy Corporation and its subsidiaries could provide to mankind.

    • Unfortunately, Kaine was quickly deemed a defective clone as he tended to resist his conditioning and because his physical state was not up to Roxxon's standards. Kaine was slated for disposal, but he made a miraculous escape onto the mean streets of Houston, a city ruled by Roxxon. After many months of trying to escape their grasp, Kaine found a safe refuge near a particular government installation dedicated to space travel. But under mysterious circumstances, Kaine was taken off the Earth entirely.

    • Because he is a defective clone, Kaine's life expectancy is much lower than the average human, and he is undergoing serious cellular deterioration.

Kaine? You sure you got the right thread? Then again we have characters like Fiery Mask and Taskmaster, so why not?

Btw normally reworking a character's origin usually irks me but given that Kaine's is so messed up to begin with, I don't really care in his case.

I wouldn't exactly call Kaine a hero, but then, neither is Taskmaster.

Accepted, unless Liz has a problem with it. Just say he's one of the kidnapped superhumans on the Kree ship, just awoken from stasis by the Skrull ship attack.

Hey I've got a question. Can I use the Creeper in this RP?

  • Name: Creeper
  • Real Name: Jack Ryder
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Late 20' to early 30's
  • Appearance: http://vignette3.wikia.nocookie.net/marvel_dc/images/8/83/Creeper_001.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20130703220532
  • Alignment: Good
  • Personality:
    • Jack Ryder: Jack is a talk show host who antagonizes his guest. And that is literally the only thing I could find about Jack's personality.
    • Creeper: The Creeper's has a personality that makes most other people believe he is the craziest living thing on Earth. He randomly says weird things that make no sense and he acts crazy.
  • Powers and Abilities:
    • Creeper Form: He can switch between being Jack and Creeper instantaneously
    • Accelerated Healing: As the Creeper he can heal most wounds very fast.
    • Enhanced Reflexes
    • Superhuman Stamina, Superhuman Strength and Superhuman Agility: These should be self explanatory.
    • Pain Inducing Laugh: His laughing can harm opponents ears.
    • Enhanced Speed
Weapons and Equipment: None
  • Origin:
    • Jack Ryder is an investigative reporter and TV show host. He was doing a story on a Dr. Yatz who was working on ground breaking nanotech for healing purposes when mobsters broke in and kidnapped them both. While held prisoner Yatz injected Ryder with an experimental prototype. During interrogation Ryder had been dosed with drugs. The combination of the drugs, the ubnstable prototype and taking a bullet to the head just before his first change is responsible for both the Creeper's weird appearnce and his weirder personality. As the Creeper Ryder broke himself and Yatz out but Yatz was killed in the process.

Well, yes, the Creeper was part of the New York game at one point. Jack Ryder was actually a pretty significant character for a while. Then his player vanished off the face of the earth a good while back, and the character hasn't really been trotted out since.

At this point, we have plenty of unusual characters in Starry, so why not Creeper? But I remind you all: this is a space adventure. Your characters may not be well suited for it. You can always change your choices later, tough.

Slap the origin section in there and it'll be good to go.

Hm. It might inform your characterisation if I tell you about the kind of stuff the former Creeper player did. Not that it'll be all that relevant to Starry Night... Well, long and short is: Jack gave support to mutant minorities, had a show where he interviewed a bunch of mutant community pillars, tried to do the same thing with anti-mutites only for the Brotherhood of Mutants to wreck that, and finally, when the Joker, Man-Bat and League of Shadows plunged the city into chaos, he gave a broadcast to help calm the citizens down. Oh, and he showed up as the Creeper a couple of times too.

There. I finally got the origin section done. For some reason the phone I was using to post with wouldn't let me edit the origin section of the sign up sheet.

Anyway, the origin is from the original sign up sheet for Creeper.
