My avatar is minimal for a reason...
simple asReading all those tweets from people of various game companies makes me want to shed a lot of tears. As a kid, I grew up in the "console wars" when they first started and some of us took it seriously. But at the end of the day, the people who work hard to give us the games we enjoy are just people like us and like in any industry, you can give lots of respect to your peers, even if you are competing in the market.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. You, know I haven't actually found a source for that. He did the graphics compression, certainly.
Hell, even Sony paid tribute to him.
simple asAnother quote, from E3 2005:
He was just like a father to Reggie. Reggie, along with others such as Miyamoto, Aonuma, Sakurai, and Tezuka, lost one of his own.
Call me Willy Whistle 'cause I can't speak, baby. Something in TV Tropes really drove me crazy.Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata. This is way too soon
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotAh. Thanks for correcting me.
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!My condolences to all of his friends and family. The world has lost a great man.
This song needs more love.Rest in peace, Mr. Iwata.
-Salutes-
...It's weird having so many websites and no way to properly display now, lol.@55, that's not surprising. All these execs likely know each other at least in passing, they all go to the same events and such. And many of them are fans of each others work.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects. This is the Nintendo song that is going in my head right now
There is actually another Nintendo track in my head
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!...God damn. I'm not usually one to get sad over things, but I'm just so choked up right now. I didn't always agree with his decisions, I'm sure most of us can say that, but he was still such a fun-loving, inspirational, and friendly guy that you can't help but love and respect him. Rest in peace, Iwata-San, and God bless you.
This made me smile through tears◊.
The Protomen enhanced my life. It's fake though.
Here is another song in tribute to the man
You know, I have to wonder why Pit is obsessed with this site. It’s gonna ruin his life!Nuts. Awful news.
Sorry to ask this so soon, but who's the next person in line for CEO?
Is this a Jo Jo reference?Well shoot, this came right out of the blue. Not much I can really add aside from offering my condolences to his friends, family, fans, and all of Nintendo.
On my wave, passing oooooooonx3 In the interim, Miyamoto and someone I don't know named Genyo Takeda seem to be at the top. Source.
Who knows who the official replacement will be.

Damn, that's way too young. I thought this guy would've been around for at least another two decades.
Rest in peace, Iwata-San. You will be missed.
It would have to be Genyo Takeda, who's been in charge of the general console development and hardware strategy for a while. Miyamoto's been downscaling and isn't really involved in the business end of things anyway, Takeda's probably got the most creative control.
I recall back when it came out that he had bile duct cancer, someone in medicine saying that he was likely doomed because that one in particular has a very low survival rate. Iwata either lied about his progression so that others wouldn't worry, or he himself was taken by surprise.
A tragic loss. There really isn't anyone quite like him in this industry. It never happens any longer that the developer side really goes and takes over the business side, whereas in the dawn of gaming that was the norm. It helped keep Nintendo special in an era when gaming was overtaken by suits.
Wow, this is sudden. Bile duct cancer is what my father passed away from, and it's not a good way to go.
But enough about me. The video game industry has lost one of its greats, a man who has brought all of us so many wonderful memories though his company's games. He will be missed.
The Living Guildpact rules that coffee is an acceptable substitution for rest as specified in subsection … whatever.
A quote from this man: "Video games are meant to be just one thing. Fun. Fun for everyone"
Yes they are, Iwata. Yes they are.
Is this a Jo Jo reference?
