Aye crowner
bump. crowner?
And hooked, thanks.
Friday votes bump; four in the green, three in consensus.
Nagisa currently in the lead; though I don't really see how she exemplifies this trope particularly with regards to the "passion" aspect, as opposed to simply being a girl who plays sports.
We can tell she's passionate about lacrosse because she's smiling and simply having a good time as she's playing it in-uniform. As for being "passionate", a unambiguously sympathetic portrayal matters more according to the trope's definition.

These two may literally be more bark than bite, but they are no less tenacious than everyone else. That is way too literal, anyway. Read the article; most or all of the crowner options are obviously examples. "Girl who plays sports" is, in fact, a big piece of the trope. For better or worse, that can imply a lot of other things about a character.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Nagisa feels like a tomboy which is why she's so close to the front.
Honestly characterization wise in media it is pretty much a huge requirement for tomboys and vice versa.
It is extremely rare to find a tomboy that isnt a sports freak in media.

@Ninja, @Rodney: Sorry. What I meant was that I felt that the image of Nagisa looked like an image of a girl who just happened to be playing sports at that moment (e.g. for Phys Ed, etc) as opposed to a girl who regularly plays sports (e.g. professionally, recreationally).

I'd go with the runner up unless the lead was cropped.
Monday votes bump...three in the green, two in consensus range.
I like that a lot better than the one currently in the crowner.
That's a good crop of that pic.
It's not bad.
Check out my fanfiction!I'll support that Beckham crop.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"It's time to call this one. The crop of the Beckham pic is up and tagged; caption or no?
"Her bones may be broken but her spirit is not!"
Flip a coin...either works.
^^ Eh, it's a bit better than 40.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Yeah, 47 has an edge.
