@Starbound: Meta was kind of a rimshot. If I cut that and just did Hammerspace, would he work?

Actually, new ideas incoming, though on the same general powerset (as Hammerspace, not Meta). Just need to write them up.

Hammerspace wouldn't work. For one, " Hammerspace. Of the kind that lets you pull out things without necessarily putting them in first." Which sort of means he can pull whatever the heck he wants out. Plus his profile still has many references to Meta which need to be erased. More than that, looking at what you've written for the character profiles, I don't have much confidence in your ability to write.

Also, no, you cannot play Alan Moore.

Wait, he's a person? I just pulled that name out of a metaphorical hat. Bluh.

Oh well.

...Yeah. I suppose that was a bit much.

Let's try this again. Going to actually write it up in Word first, instead of repeatedly editing.

Name: Twenty-Pound / Officer Emmet Franz (LCPD)

Age: 23

Gender: Male

Appearance:

Race: Caucasian

Height: 5’11”

Weight: 220 lbs

Build: Somewhat muscular due to regular exercise.

Costume (If Applicable): Wears some personal protective gear (Kevlar, basically), but doesn’t have a proper costume, unless you count the police uniform. Prefers, however, to wield a hammer stylized like a barbell in melee combat.

Personality: Pretty much permanently depressed after seeing the horrors of Nazi concentration camps.

Biography: Emmet Franz was a pretty normal person with an absolute memory prior to the war, occasionally using his powers to make a spare key to his apartment when he locked himself out, making a quarter for an arcade machine (but not a shopkeeper, that would be robbery!), minor little conveniences. During the war, however, Emmet was pretty much used as a source of battlefield ammo, keeping machineguns firing using his powers. As such, he saw plenty of the horrors of war, but what he saw when he liberated a concentration camp haunts him to this day. The emaciated prisoners, the bodies rotting in open graves, the orchestras playing as people were marched to their deaths…When he got back to the US he simply couldn’t deal with it, and so for a long time he simply hid from the world, and lived off of some savings he had. The second month of his self-imposed isolation, however, ended violently and abruptly when a small-time thief broke in to his flat. Emmet successfully held the man at ‘gunpoint’ with what amounted to a prop until the cops arrived. Soon after, as if some invisible switch had tripped, he went for a job in the Los Cielos PD. He’s still getting used to it, though.

Abilities: Can manifest ANYTHING…That doesn’t have a mass greater than 20 lbs. Total. So, he can make one twenty-pound thing, or two ten-pound things, or twenty one-pound things. But not anything greater than twenty pounds. However, small portions of whatever he makes that have lost contact with the main body of the manifestation will persist. (I.E., if he wrote with a pen, the ink would stay, if he fired a gun, the bullet might stay, if he threw a gun, it wouldn’t stay. If a grenade exploded, the aftermath of the explosion would demanifest, but injuries sustained would remain. If he ate something…Well, he hasn’t tried that and probably won’t.)

Unrelated to his powers, he has a photographic memory, allowing him to manifest complex objects if he’s seen their schematics before and they’re in his weight limit.

Equipment: Kevlar vest, police uniform, carries a gun. Also carries a radio.

Additional Notes: Yeah, I actually thought about this one instead of just throwing together things that sounded good on the spur of the moment.

Rejected. There's a lot of things in the world, you know. Abuse potential is pretty high, even with that limited capacity.

...Oh fine, but I really liked that one.

Eh.

Is the character/backstory okay, if I change the powers a bit?

His personality isn't a personality, it's a state of mind, and you're going to need to change his powers around substantially, which has the potential of invalidating his backstory. Speaking frankly, I don't find the character all that particularly interesting either.

It might be simpler just to start from scratch again. You should avoid having your powers be broad, since that tends towards being easily abused.

I'd like to state that sign ups are still open! Things in the RP have been, admittedly, slowing down a bit, but we could use some new blood to help keep things running smoothly!

Okay, I think it's about time I close up shop and call it. It's been fun, but with work and other real life stuff to worry about, and the drop off in player activity, I think we're just about wrapped up. I'm sorry I couldn't dedicate more time and energy into the RP, the kind an RP like this really needs in order to keep itself in gear, but I hope those who stuck with it up 'til now had fun.

See you in the next one, folks.
