You swirl your finger around, creating a trail of oil which floats in the air where you made it. Yep, your magic is working.

>Move yourself over to the light.

You start to walk towards the light source. As you approach it, it gets bigger, but at an inconsistent pace. You walk for several minutes and it doesn't move, then in a matter of seconds it seems much closer.

It might be a while before you arrive to it.

Hm. You're sure you don't usually dream in binary. What is it with all these numbers here? It doesn't make much sense.

You very suddenly arrive at the source of the light, and reveal it to be a very massive crack. Just a giant crack in the middle of nowhere, shimmering with a blinding light. You can't see anything down inside it, the light is too strong. You don't know what it means or why it's here, or where here even is.

Though the most likely and most obvious answer is that it's just weird stupid dream stuff.

What do you do?

Yes, waking up in an oil-soaked bed sure sounds great.

See if there is some sort of red and/or blue pills on your person.

Because binary code means only one thing...

You begin to gather a massive amount of oil behind you, swishing and swirling through the air. You allow it to continue building up as you direct your attention elsewhere.

You check the pockets of your suit for any pills, but find none. There aren't any under your hat, either, nor are there any up your sleeves and in your shoes. Guess you were wrong about the binary.

Hm. Well, you do have one thing.

You toss your hat into the crack. The brim is just wide enough that it gets stuck in there. However, after a few seconds, the light glows brighter, and your hat fades away.

Dammit.

You reach a foot into it, and suddenly, the light coming from it becomes much brighter and stronger, chasing away the darkness that surrounds you and replacing it with bright, blinding white.

You hear a very loud splash and a very loud yelling. You recognize the voices. Someone is shaking you. You open your eyes and see you hat lying on your chest, utterly soaked in oil.

Bad Hair Day is looking over you, oil dripping from her hair. The unnamed guard is throwing a tantrum behind her. Bill is trying to calm him down, but he himself looks dazed and confused.

You sit up slowly, groggily. The steel floors, the white sheets, the streams of toilet paper, everything is covered in oil.

You put your hat back on.

What do you do?

(Do you guys think it would be a good idea to feign ignorance/confusion?)

(Perhaps feign insanity or mindlessness?)

(Perhaps, unless they try to study us to find out how we bypassed their wards? You are probably right though, you plan sounds much safer!)

(It wasn't a bad plan, necessarily, but the guard seems just angry enough to try something)

(I don't think the guards would be the ones to kill us, if they had the authority I think they would have killed us in the incident with the shiv, their superiors however...)

"Wha..." You look around, your eyes wide and innocent. "What happened here?"

"Don't act stupid, boy!!!" the guard yells. "This is your fucking magic!!! You know exactly what happened, and you're going to explain yourself, or you're headed straight to solitary!!!!!"

Bad Hair Day gasps. You gulp. Bill is pulling out a walkie-talkie, explaining to someone the situation.

"I... I really don't know!" you say. "My magic doesn't work here! I was asleep when it happened!!"

The guard glares at you, and he seems truly boiling with anger. Then he notices your hat, and before you can react, he swipes it off of your head.

"What the hell is this?"

Bill looks up from his walkie-talkie. "Oh, it's the hat he was wearing when he came in. But how did it get..."

The unnamed guard looks back towards you. "Let me guess. You have no idea how this got here, either?"

You silently shake your head no.

The guard clenches his fist with the hat still in it, and you cringe - it was not made to be handled that way.

The guard walks off and punches one of the walls. "As if! We're taking you both to solitary!"

"Actually," says Bill, "There's no need. They're sending in help."

"What kind of help?"

Bill starts explaining, but you tune it out. Now that he's no longer in your face, you have a chance to test your magic without them noticing. You make a small circular motion with your hand, willing some of the oil on the ground to rise. Nothing happens.

The guard is frowning, but he doesn't seem as angry.

"I never really liked that idea. Fighting magic with magic. How do we know they won't just turn on us? Then we'll have two problems on our hands..."

Oh, great. You have a pretty good idea of what that means, and you don't like it.

Bill shrugs as he leads the way out. "Sometimes, you just gotta fight fire with fire."

The unnamed guard laughs. You really don't like what that could mean.

"Oh, by the way," he says, still chuckling as he locks up the bars, "No breakfast for you two today." With that, the two of them walk off down the hall.

"DAMMIT!!!" exclaims Bad Hair Day, slumping down on the floor. She lands pretty hard. "Oww...."

"Well, at least we don't get solitary, right?" you ask.

She glares at you. However, you can see in her eyes that she's more curious than angry. "How did you do that? No witch has ever been able to use their magic in here. And so much of it, too..."

What do you do?
