Opened.
Aside from the pixellated border in the upper right, it kind of looks like an artistic choice, as a folded newspaper, so it doesn't bug me much. On the other hand, if that were the case it'd be better to have that be more obvious, which obviously isn't the case because it's just not the case.
On the other hand, the weak part of the image is the future bit, which is completely absent in the recrop.
Check out my fanfiction! The absent futuristic part could be added as a caption, not much different from the original. Besides, having a Romulan enslaving earthlings sells the trope to me already.

Not sure where's that laser gun you mention. All I see is a whip and a holster
It doesn't sell it for people who don't know what a Romulan is. Looks like a human at that level of detail.

Check out my fanfiction! The "futuristic" part is weak, but could be strengthened by a caption. The ruined buildings in the background say After the End a little. Perhaps that should be mentioned?
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. To me the ruined buildings just say "warzone."
The archetypical 40K image of this is the Torpedo/Nova Cannon Loading artwork from Battlefleet Gothic.
Just looking at the URL, I can tell that's going to be shrunk way down...is there another link to it?
It looks full size when I follow the link. I can't find another one yet but I will keep looking.
Edit: There is this but it is a bit crocked and requires cropping.

If you drag the link into your address bar, it circumvents Wikia's hotlink protection.
Moon◊Or click in your address bar and press enter.
Either way, I have no idea what it is I'm looking at in that picture at full size, let alone wiki-size
Human slaves at a robot factory.◊ Maybe add the caption "Because unlike robots, humans work faster, don't need to sleep or take potty breaks."

Robot factory is great.
Robot factory gets my vote.
In the beginning there was nothing, and it exploded. Terry Pratchett 35 tropes so far. It's better.

That's pretty cool.
I like it.
It's been a few days and it's still at 6 for, none against. Should we put it up, or wait for a few more yeah's?
Go for it.
And it's up.
Caption?
I was thinking maybe "We may be slaves, but have you SEEN these abs? Robot assembly line fitness is metal!"
"Redefining 'bodybuilding'."
It looks like this was a scan from something with the corner folded over. The bottom of the image isn't even straight. Given the scource I suppose there is a slight chance that it looked like this originaly, if it was supposed to look like a thing with the corner folded over in the comic, but it doesn't change that it looks pretty poor.
I imagine that there are likely some good Warhammer 40k pics for this trope, but I can't find any myself. A better version of the current image might work, but I don't really feel it conveys the trope all that well, it looks more like generic slave labour that the specifics of the trope.
