Well, robots always seem to have very stiff, stoic, emotionless voices. Or sometimes british ones(like Mr. Handys or JARVIS). Though their are ones that seem very human, like XJ9/Jenny Wakeman.
Vikings always have helmets with at least 2 spikes on, despite that being proven false, IIRC. They also usually have axes and ride boats that are moved by dozens and dozens of oars. And the boats usually seem to have some sort of mermaid like figure on the front.
Pirates have black eyepatches and parrots, even though those are false as well.
Ninjas wear black outfits. Their never like their real life counterparts(which are farmers), it seems.
A lot of old timey Gangsters say "meh see".
Cave people wear a single cloth to cover them selves. Though some cave woman wear a cloth bikini. They also speak in giberish. Usually saying stuff like "Uga bugga". They have giant wood or stone clubs.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I think you misunderstood, I asked whether there are more of the same kind of thematic characters, not a description of those that I listed in my list. Because I know there are still more of these sorts of thematic characters. For example, I did not mention the common themed character as a mermaid, rebel, ghosts or even a giant.
But yes, your descriptions are what makes them iconic in the mainstream culture and what makes them thematic characters in cinema and television.
No, I do not. I need more themes, not explanations of those themes that are already mentioned. Am I really writing in such a confusing manner or is the reading comprehension off here on your side?
Yes, you got it now.
A cheerleader is somewhat of a thematic character, that's right.
I'm thinking about making a whole list of all sorts of thematic characters since I haven't found anything that resembles such a list, but even if one knows them when they appear on screen, it's quite hard to think of them off the top of your head.
That's why I made it into a thread in order to receive some help from others.
I like the witch doctor - that is definitely a thematic character.
The two others are more like stock characters or cliches used as literary devices. Sure, they are common, but not thematic since they don't have an overall recognizable image. The witch doctor definitely does though, thanks for that one!
This is sort of a pretty fun game when people start to know how it's supposed to be played and it definitely fits TV Tropes since it's about informing each other about thematic characters that we often see, but do not really acknowledge...
Super Heroes?
They were all pretty spot on.
I'll try myself:
Byzantine Spartans
Vagabonds!
As for the one , eh.. superheros are much more divide than the other thematic characters. But for the sake of simplicity, let's say yes.

Arabian Bedouins riding on camels in the dessert.
Gentlemen
Spies
Guardians
Chefs with large white hats
Soldiers
Tin Soldiers
Half animal, half human people
While in reality there are superhero characters of all kinds, the general perception of them is that they're all like Superman: eg: spandex costumes, capes, Flying Brick powers, etc. So yeah I'd call it a stereotype (which only recently started to break, mostly thanks to the success of Marvel's movies.)

When you think about it like that, then, yes, it fits.
Adventurers
Slaves
Boxers

Detective hounds
Arabian belly-dancers
What about we orient toward boys' thematic characters like the action stuff? Like agents or/and mutants.
The henchmen
Tintin-esque reporters
Hmmm... I'm blank... other people can participate too.
The term "thematic characters" is essentially my own word for a trope that is similar to "stock characters" or "archetypes" and it may be similar to the trope Motifs, but it is much more specifically aimed at a concrete theme.
And that is a thematic character who is an iconic theme of either historical or mythical professions popularized by the mainstream culture.
In basic words, it is a character who is easily recognized by both adults and children for his or hers memorable and usually stereotypical outfit or occupation directed at some certain memorable theme.
For example, everyone knows what a zombie is, and if you don't, you live under a rock. You don't need to like the concept of zombies or even have watched any sort of entertainment about zombies, but it is an public image and you are quite unaware of what is going on if you don't know what a zombie is or its core ideas, which is basically a trope character for shows nowadays.
Now, with that said, there exist many thematic characters and I would like that we all help one another to record them in one big list because I seem to not find any, not even here on TV Tropes.
This is a list where we start with all those that I can remember:
Zombies
Vikings
Pirates
Clowns
Police officers
Cowboys
Bounty hunters
Scotsmen
Cave-men
Barbarians
Knights
1930s Capone-esque gangsters
Detectives
Thieves
Canadian-like lumberjacks
Ninjas
Samurais
Mad scientists
Shaolin monks
Robots
Please inform of more of these sorts of tropes or stereotypes of these sorts of thematic characters.
