Well, we are an English website, so if there is an official translated name, we use that. If there are different titles in different regions, then we would typically pick the first release; or if they were simultaneous, the best known. There's also nothing wrong with using the alternative titles as redirects.

"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Understood. I ask because the work in question has TWO English titles, American and European. And people seem to quickly jump on the assumption that "English" means "American", or that the American title is most well known simply because it's the American one.
The idea of using the English title that was released first does make more sense, however. Thanks for answering.
We do not use "first released", except in cases of delayed page movement. We use "most recent official release". The only problems we usually find are in concurrently produced English-language releases.
Alternate work names should be created as redirects, to facilitate finding the actual work page.

I'm planning to make a trope page for a little-known videogame, but it has multiple names and I'm not certain which one I should use.
It's original title in Japanese is "Yukinko Daisenpuu ~Sayuki to Koyuki no Hie-Hie Daisoudou~" while in America it was called "Heavenly Guardian" and in Europe, the name I knew it as, was "Legend of Sayuki".
Which one would be best to use and why? And please, don't just say "the American name because this is an American website".
