A sub-trope to the Von Trope Family ?

I have noticed something about French characters in anglo works in general (though it's more prevalent in comedy/animation) : if there is a French character, their name will most likely contain "Le" or "La". For example, we have Gaston Le Gume and Le Fou in "Beauty and the Beast", Pépé Le Pew from the Looney Tunes, Le Quack from "Courage the Cowardly Dog", Le Frog in "Flushed Away"... It seems French characters in Fictionland inexplicably have a French first name, an English family name and a random "Le/La" in between.

Since most Real-Life French people whose names have a particle nowadays are more likely to be named "du Something" or "de Somethingelse" (and never have two capital letters in their family name so for example, "Le Incorrectname" and "Le Incorrectname" would be off while "Lecorrectname" and "le Correctname" are good), I think it's a good example of They Just Didn't Care or Critical Reserch Failure, which can be further aggravated by having the wrong particle preceding a word that would be a specific "gender" in French (for example, "Anne-Marie Le Frog" or "Jean-Pierre La Jerk").

So, what do you Tropers think ? Sub-trope ? New Trope altogether ?
