Could the Washington Monument be damaged again?

In 2011, the Washington Monument was closed for repairs after being damaged by an earthquake. these repairs cost about $15 million. Although the Monument has been re-opened for over a year, I can't seem to find any details on whether measures were taken to prevent this sort of scenario from occurring again. Was it made 'earthquake-proof', or did they simply repair the damage that was done to it?
