@darkdestinysoul: yeah, the rivers could go through your lands too, I imagined them being big enough to support ships anyways, ports could be set up there to ease trading.

[up]Cool coincidence

If we use nationnames as well we can finish this with 'The Magical Kingdom of Stalli'.

Just posting to say that I got a second nation idea, and it's gonna be a war-mongering one.

All I have to do is come up with a name for it and the race inhabiting it, then type it all up. Don't know if I'll do that tonight though.

@Firock Finion Did you still intend on doing a second kingdom + adventurer? Did you want help with its name and people?

Also it seems some of the others in the sign-up thread haven't made any changes which is a little sad. The more the merrier would have been nice.

I still intend to; I just get nasty writer's block and a lotta distractions in life.

Got a race name now, the nation name will probably come to me when I actually get to typing it.

Also, TV Tropes is being hella slow for me today. Keeps taking ages to load pages, and I know it's not my internet because other sites load fine.

I can understand that. I have my exams in like 3 weeks time so we all have distractions.

Also names are always a thing I struggle with.

TV tropes has been a little slower for me but not by a lot. Edit: Strike that it just slowed down a ton for me.

And there it is. I still need to decide on the adventure character though, that is if the nation is accepted. I've boiled it down to two ideas, I'm just not sure which one to go for: A disgruntled, old, down-to-earth veteran dude, or a runaway, royal, magical girl. (If you read the race for said signup you should see why the second option sounds especially hilarious.) [lol]

Reading your entry, as strange as it is. I do like it and magical royal would certainly be interesting all things considered. Also I sense alot of interseting RP based on that extreme gender-bias culture.

Okay, I made a map thingy.

This thing is obviously subject to change if and when we get new players. If anyone has problems with this, please mention them.

Along with the main nations, I included a few nations that exist alongside the main player nations or those that are implied to exist. Specifically, I included the other states mentioned in my post, the Skaven forest lands, and possibly the origin point of the elven empire mentioned by Sanojutsu. The borders I drew in are mostly approximations of what I think the nations look like.

I'm just going to mention I had a different set of priorities when designing this map than Firock Finion. I wanted to ensure that most of the nations are placed where their climate would make sense, while also trying to maintain the basic arrangement that was agreed upon for the nation setup. This is kinda the reason why I placed Rikitas way to the south. Additionally, I wanted to ensure everyone had some clear access route to the Wardu Junta, seeing as that will be the meeting place for the first adventure.

Aside from what was previously agreed with, I kinda wanted to space the nations out from each other to leave room for border states. I'm not exactly keen with putting everybody right next to each other, cause the histories and cultures of each nation don't quite mesh in my head. As in, I can't quite see how each nation's culture, development and stuff would reach to its present status without stuff from other nations massively influencing it.

Otherwise, I just arranged everything in a way that made sense to me and added random crap here and there.

Obviously, there's a fuckton of whitespace, which is mostly undefined territory at the moment until we figure out what should go there. For instance, the areas around Wardu are likely going to be occupied by its border states, though how these states will be arranged is still left undefined. I'm also going to mention that I'm willing to add more continents and landmasses if it becomes necessary to do so, specifically to the west and northeast of the stuff on the current map draft.

I've placed a number of mountain ranges and river on the map, but those are by no means the only ones that exist on the continent. I just included those that were mentioned in discussion or sign ups and those I figured would exist. There's obviously more but I'm too lazy to include them until its necessary/I feel like doing it.

Rikita's placement and inclusion was a bit of of an afterthought, as was the overall shape of its country. I'm not sure if we're all picturing it as a strip of land like how I drew it, but I kinda made it like that since it covered multiple biomes and stuff.

Also, I just realized I forgot to put a place for the Gregnear state, though it could probably go either north or south of Arvana.

Again, why so much emphasis on this? We're in a magical fantasy setting; it really, really does not matter if the climates and biomes make sense or not.

Also, part of the reason I even made Rikitas was to have a nation other player nations could have histories of wars against, since we're all a bit on the peaceful side otherwise. Rikitas being way over by themselves completely defeats the point of that.

Well the map is better than vague attempts. Rana is forever alone from the other major nations. (As I designed it tongue) Arvana looks good overall.

For when it comes to Rikitas, possibly to aid in their war making making them stretch a bit further north, they did say they even started claiming forest regions for example. I can understand that our cultures and climates making it difficult for all our nations to be in contact.

Here is somthing for Firock Finion, what about colony like areas further north? Would that be possible, it would help with both warring and make it more reasonable why they are not a huge force, yet for us though they may still be a major challange. It is a idea, considering the white space. You know your nation best ofcourse.

If needed we can also create vague ideas for nations to help fill in the whiteness.

I could probably stretch Rikitas's borders so it's somewhat closer to everything else and possibly give it some presence closer to the other nations. Kinda skimmed through the description a bit when I was making the map. Still, regardless that this is a magical setting, it doesn't hurt to have things like geography and climate and stuff have some degree of plausibility.

Either way, going to wait until I get everyone's opinion and until we're certain the player count is stable. Plus, I'll need to wait to see if anyone comes up with vague border state places.

Colonies would work. I didn't imagine Rikitas having the most powerful navy but that doesn't mean they couldn't sail around at all.

I was gonna leave their placement (and/or colony placement, I guess) up to being based on who wants to have any historical wars with them. I certainly wouldn't mind Saudor having to beat them back out of the desert a few times.

GM, you still alive? Also, how many of us are still here? It would be a shame if we couldn't get this to get off the ground.

Haven't really tried adjusting the map thingy, since I've been doing other stuff. Still, it looks like the player count is somewhat stable at this point.

Yeah I actually was quite excited to see this go forward and then everything just stopped. For player count it does look pretty stable with 5 players and 7 nations/heros protagonists.

We might as well try and keep this going, presume the GM is not dead but just out of order for the past week or two. Edit: Well I know the GM is not dead, he was active in the avatar arena today.

Er, whoops. Was still waiting for some people (coughTojincough) and it slipped my mind.

Quick roll call and then we'll start, how's that sound?

As for borders: I imagine Wardu would be surrounded by more peaceful states. Since any war involving the Ashura will end with much higher casualties, war becomes less attractive.

Though I'm also all for Wardu being near Rikitas. Warmongering bugs next to war-loving giants? A match made in hell.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

Well we have a basic map put togeather, expanding our warloving insect territory and addowing a few colonies near both Wardu and Saudor should not be difficult. I have even done a basic, edit to the map to help add such. Here

Do we want to come up with neutral nations to fill the void on the map or shall we leave it as ambigous and can be brought into the stories as and when called for?

On another note, once we start will we still be accepting more players?
