most of the people working on this are westerners, humorously.
production values are nice. pluto will forever be the best astro boy adaptation though.
How many times have they rebooted Astro Boy? There was the 1981 series, the 2003 series, the 2009 film...
And yet Tezuka's original show still remains the best known version, and the others I mentioned are pretty much forgotten.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."2003 was my initial introduction to the franchise, but i was young, so what ever.
I hope they include Astro girl in this one as well, unlike that American movie full of suck!
"We be we baby!"I've heard of people who grew up with the eighties show, but the one video tape I had was from the sixties version, and then I got to watch some more of it on Adult Swim one year. But I've also heard of people who only know Astroboy from the movie because they only watch movies. :/
As far as I'm concerned, the best adaptation is Astro Boy Omega Factor.

I have no idea what is the best adaptation of Astro Boy but honestly another story seems like fun.
I feel like this new reboot will be better(or at least hope)
And yet Tezuka's original show still remains the best known version, and the others I mentioned are pretty much forgotten.
People still remember Pluto but it was never going to be as popular as the original astro boy despite its excellence.
hopefully Astro Boy wont be so under rated anymore he really isnt getting enough love. :(
well like i said earlier pluto is almost universally acclaimed as a sci-fi masterpiece. it's just that comparatively speaking not that many people have read it.
I wonder what Kimba and The Wonder 3 would look like if they ever got a reboot in the future?
So this is a thing? Cool. I really loved both the manga and the 2003 version. The recent movie was really disappointing, but at least it got the basics and general feel right. Wonder how this one does.
We won't know until we get more news about it.
"We be we baby!"So, was this show just dropped and retooled into the new Astro Boy prequel, or is it still going to be a thing?
Astro Boy: Reboot, the French adaptation of the manga character that's been in Development Hell, is finally back! Under the new helming director Thomas Astruc (Miraculous Ladybug), the series will be Shifted to CGI with assistance from Method Animation.
52 episodes, 26 minutes each, is the confirmed production order.
A few months ago, I was lessening to podcast where Samuel Sattin was interviewed. If my memories correct, he mentioned that Tezuka Productions had been deeply considering on reintroducing Tezuka's characters to a new audience for years now. They even launched two official Youtube channels in both Japanese and English a while back.
Interesting that new concept art of the Astro Boy reboot started showing up around the same period Unico: Awakening (which re-imagines Unico) was announced near the end of Spring 2022.

If having a new Dragon Ball series wasn't hyping me up enough, I just came across this tonight and found nobody talking about this reboot!
I know the new design is gonna throw me off, but I'm all for another round of Mighty Atom! Your thoughts and expectations?
"We be we baby!"
