The choice doesn't have to come from a media work that happened in-universe.

@Hazzy:
Benedict is still waiting for Anna to come get him btw. Since you asked if everyone else was at Study Hall.
What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?It's cool we have a mystery and I think I will try to give some hypothesis.
First we know that the "empowering event" wasn't natural like mutants or terrigen mist. Rather a sentient being ( or beings) did this on purpose. ( "prove yourselves?").
Second Jerry's death was murder. Why wasn't he spared like the other adults? We are told because he saw what happened and represented "the old world". The parents don't remember anything so it must mean being older or close to the kids wasn't enough to die. Conclusion. The entity doesn't want them to know what happened, not even willing to take risks (erasing memories, killing witnesses). It wants to erase it's tracks for now.
Third the entity is very likely a reality warper, but it isn't omnipotent as it wants the kids for something. But they have to "prove themselves" first. Most likely it isn't to have world peace, as many empowered like the mysterious Jessica are amoral. Perhaps it wants to prove a point or to face a greater threat than it.
I still need more clues to solve this... but that's my best guess so far.

Forgiveness is beyond justice, faith is superior than hope, redemption is better than perfection and love is greater than them all.There's also the fact it is possible to replicate the abilities and technology we received, so the empowerer clearly isn't trying to limit the spread. Plus, I doubt Jerry's death was actually needed for such entities to perform the event, and given their lack of selectivity (aka "Psycho Bitch Jessica") they most certainly aren't kind. Personally I would say this is just a show for aforementioned beings than anything they actually needed. The power or technology required to do this proves such.
By the way, Grate, what do I do regarding the file thing? Make something up or wait for a reply from you?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Damn, was that 'friend from the Cinema Club' Marty? The NPCs are not having a good time.
AFAIK, Travis and Benedict are still in class, David is unaccounted for, Amy and Tim are back in time, and the rest are together and outside of class.
they/them || "Forgive me, regent of queer amphibians" - Lt.BGobTo help further things along, assume Principal Shooter sent out a message through the intercom, so Travis, Benedict, David, Amy and Tim (the latter two on a separate, present time section) have a reason to be in the study hall.
As for Marty, well, that was just a random name. Luckily it matched up.
As for Jessica, do know that lots of things could have happened in those years between 2015 and 2021. There are several big reveals I'm witholding... though I can hint at one of them: Principal Shooter uttering the phrase "well, some students are missing". Oh, how I enjoy stirring up the speculation pot.
For the file thing, Kkutwar, you can have Cornelius download it and I'll reply with what happened. Let's just say that I heard your comment about a certain artificial intelligence.
How are the future posts working for all of you? Enough to drum up some interest as to who the figures are?

Damn, sorry to see people dropout given the posting rate. I feel guilty now
I really like the future posts - very intriguing and, of course, well written. It aggravates my curiousity which is a good thing. Also, Jessica is a wonderful bitch. It all makes me wonder where our characters will be after all that time.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”Sorry for not positng anything on the last couple days, guys, been busy with some work. I'll try to post again tonight.

RL>RP, dude. It's cool, happens to me a lot.
“Isn't it enough to see that a garden is beautiful without having to believe that there are fairies at the bottom of it too?”The future posts do make me a little worried some of our actions would end up meaningless, and obviously we can't kill Jessica lest we invalidate said future posts. So are there going to be invisible walls we can't past, or are the future posts more of an "idea" of what could be?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Trust me, you can kill Jessica if you want. The future posts are just, like you said, an idea of what could happen. The future is not set in stone, that is why the details are vague. Do I have an overall reason for doing the future scenes? Yes. But that will become clear in the future.
So are we gonna go ahead and timeskip to the study hall scene?
If it does not put a sudden end to your current interactions, yes please.
As for Anna and Tim, simply do another section of your posts where you two are on the school, if that is an acceptable alternative.
Right, I'll go do that but for now Age of Ultron awaits
I suppose the plotty reason is to slowly give us a better idea of those behind the event and the potential consequences of our actions, with the meta-reason to allude to dark events to help establish/remind people this won't be a happy little romp?
"The Omniverse is the collection of all possibilities, and all possibilities must eventually come to pass."Quick question. Do we post our characters going to the principal? or are we time skipping that and assume they are already there? Just curious!

Forgiveness is beyond justice, faith is superior than hope, redemption is better than perfection and love is greater than them all.Whatever you prefer.
Is the Study Hall just a normal classroom, or is it structured differently?
Just a normal classroom.
jk tickets were sold out, gonna go do something else isntead
I know how that feels.
@GE, thanks!

Should we hurry it along then, and skip to present day sometime in the next couple of posts? And if that doesn't happen, could I separate my posts into two parts (past and present)?
Oh, and I'll be a lot more scarce starting this coming week. I have an AP exam coming up, then finals. So sorry if I don't post as much.

Cornelius would really start to shine when everyone gathers up and the superpower aspect officially gets delved into. Oh yeah, question!
Since in-universe we're still in April, would Cinematic Marvel characters introduced in Avengers 2 be an acceptable choice for our powers? Or does a choice have to come from a media work that already popped up in their universe? Thus no using Cinematic Ant-Man or Black Panther for example.
