Duplicate Image: Creator.Clark Gable

As I've mentioned in the ATT, Creator.Clark Gable uses the exact same image as Tall, Dark, and Handsome (even linking to the same image URL). I first thought it was something that either the mods or the troper hivemind have decided about, since that is obviously deliberate.

But as it apparently wasn't something the site has agreed on, one of the images should be changed. It's probably easier to switch the one in the creator page, though, since there's a lot of good ones in GIS.

I actually do feel like the current image is kind of clever, but if we actually have a rule/policy against duplicate images, then a change wouldn't hurt. No preference at present, though.

The rule is "pic duplication is verboten on trope pages and to be avoided between tropes and other page types whenever possible."

Fair enough, I wasn't contesting it.

It is easy to find a different picture of Clark Gable.

Too many. To the point we may be a little spoilt for choice here. Out of the ones I've come across on GIS, these are my preferred ones:[1]◊[2]◊

The second one is far more dynamic while the former is pretty clear it's him and not one of the characters he's played.

First one is good. I don't like the way he looks in the second. It's rather unnerving, IMO.

I thought the opposite. The second looks good, and in the first he looks unnerved. Or disturbed, at least.

Well, if I actually have to choose from the whole GIS results, I'd go with this◊ one, instead of the other two.

I think this one's◊ pretty cool, even if he's older.

I don't understand the rule against image duplication. Just one of the several rules on TV Tropes that seem to exist for no reason.

That said, I see it's been over a month since the image of Gable was removed. I propose the second image in post #8 above (this one◊) and I will post it tonight unless anyone objects.

You can't do that without consensus, which we have not established for any of the suggestions.

All the suggested image were good. Unless there's an overwhelming yes for that picture, we should do a crowner.

The way it's got a wavy outline makes it look better without one, I think.

Oh yeah. No caption has my vote. That looks pretty sweet. And it's a Creator page for a human; it's not like anyone is going to wonder who that is or require explanation.
