I really like his take on advertising and consumer culture and the pursue of what is "cool" in So Yesterday. He's got some really interesting ideas about identity vs. collective culture that most YA novels that tackle those subjects don't deal with.

Speaking as someone who otherwise enjoyed the Midnighters and Peeps, the man has no idea how to write a satisfying action climax. It's just build-up, build-up, build-up, one-shot kill, epilogue.
If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~

I'm not really a fan of most of his books, but I'm absolutely crazy over Leviathan.
