I was thinking about suggesting a new trope called "G.I. Joe Bullets".

Here, I have a found memory that in almost all of the original G.I. Joe cartoon, ad some episodes of the original Transformers cartoon as well, there was almost all military personnel with M16s firing lasers instead of real bullets (Footloose and Leatherneck's M16s also shot lasers). Same goes to the A K47s the October Guard carries as so General Hawk's 1911A1 pistol. It simply ticks me off as a child thinking that was a machine gun that wasn't supposed to shoot lasers.

It later got me into a delusion that when a see movies like Red Dawn as a kid, I thought the A Ks the Russian soldiers were like laser rifles until they fired real bullets. That confused the heck out of me.

The trope can also apply to other 80's and 90's cartoons like the first Robocop animated series as well some live action shows like a few episodes of Terry Bollea's (aka Hulk Hogan) show Thunder in Paradise.

I hope this trope finally gets the attention it deserve.

Belongs in You Know That Thing Where anyway. Also, usually we just call them tropes, not tv tropes. That's the name of the site itself tongue

Nope, they're all TV tropes, even the ones that aren't on TV. grin
