Relationship Status: TV Tropes ruined my love life

I feel like the trope has been made unnecessarily narrow for its title.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"

I'm inclined to think the reverse: the title suggests a broader definition than the trope.

Adrenaline Makeover seems focused on a character's appearance changing to make them more attractive as a result of going through an adventure.
But what about when going through an adventure changes a character's appearance, but though the change makes them look cooler, it doesn't necessarily make them look more attractive, in the "I'd hit that" sense of the word?
Is the important part of the trope that going through danger and excitement has given them a brand new look, or is it specifically that going through danger and excitement has made them more conventionally beautiful?
