It's my favourite too :D Just the absolute deadpan could-not-give-a-shit delivery. Yeah. Rip.
It's been like three years or something now and I still think it's hilarious.
Don't know if anybody mentioned this or not, but Eidos Montreal confirmed a few days go that New game plus is confirmed.
That's cool, I remember being disappointed that Human Revolution didn't have that. I really love playing a game a second time with all the high powered stuff I finished the last round with, and just wrecking everything.
Unless DX:HR did have NG+ and I forgot. Pretty sure it didn't though, or I'd probably have finished that pacifist run I meant to do. Tell you what, that opening sequence in the Sarif building before you have any augs sucks when you can't just shoot everyone.
Director's Cut does.
....I don't really see what's wrong with that, though???
Lots of people have a problem with these sorts of pre-order incentives, especially when one holds rewards hostage until enough people pre-order the game.
It's basically making people who pre-order pressure other people into pre-ordering for no reason. And those who do preorder don't know what they are getting.

Meh, Programs like that are almost always a sham.
Like, can you think of any pre-order system like this (And I mean pre-order. Not stuff like Kickstarter stretch goals and shit where the amount of sales/money is publicly viewable) who hasn't met all their goals? The answer is no. Because no (sane) company would allow it to happen, because releasing the game going "We've only reached the 25% pre-order bonus tier" is basically tantamount to telling their stock owners "Our game is totally not gonna meet sale expectations" and shooting the value of their own stocks in the foot.
Whoever preorders will get all rewards, the tier system is to create an extra feeling of urgency.

Well, that may have killed my interest in the game.
"I didn't ask for this."
Ooh, ohh, if I put a # in from of that it'll become a thing, right?

"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984I'm going to ignore it. Not even buy Pre-Order.
I'm not going to go so far as to disregard the game entirely because of this (and I was probably never going to preorder anyway, since there are other games coming out at around the same time that I am more interested in), but yeah, this makes me not want to preorder.
Just seems like it's an arsehole thing to do no matter how you slice it. I think I agree with Cobra Prime, they're almostly certainly going to ship it with full rewards, and this tier thing is just to make people scramble to preorder.
Jim Sterling has some harsh words for the pre-order practice of this game:
Eeeeey they listened!
I am actually pleased!
Broken link. I assume you meant this?
And I don't mean to be Debbie Downer but this doesn't mean anything: all these sorts of campaigns are smokescreens to get people excited for stuff they will give anyway (do you honestly believe they would give any sort of indication that their fans are not "excited enough" to unlock all the tiers? Why do you think they lacked any countdown or progress meter on the site?) This way, they are simply doing what they always planned to do but now under the guise of "listening to the fans". Manipulation at its finest.

I have a suspicion that "let's do something people will hate so we get lots of press, then reverse the thing" would be an idea laughed out of most marketing meetings in even a worst case situation. More likely, it is legitimate damage control. It probably won't reverse the trend of such pre-order stuff happening, if you need something to be cynical about though.

Well, hey, good that Square changed it's tune, I guess.
At least they listened to the vast majority of fans, which in this case is important.
Not enough JC Denton and too much focus on Jensen
Which is a good thing.
JC Denton's a little too bland for me, at least in terms of voice acting. I much prefer Jensen by far.
Bu-but muh Deadpan Snarker...
I laughed so hard, that's a great video. And that's one of my favorite lines from the game as well.
