The All-Purpose Hyperdimension Fanfiction Thread

You know what, you don't have to. I know why I'm a little salty. Because other than the one shots and fics written by tropers and the fic The Proposal, there are no good Neptunia fanfics. Unless you know of one of course.

I could try to make one... Mind you, my idea is basically replacing Thor and Asgard in the MCU with Neptunia and Gamindustri...

You don't have to. Writing something because of someones moining doesn't result in good fiction. I'll just start looking into Fire Emblem fics after I finish watching this LP on FE Awakening.

I DO want to make a Nep fic... It's just all my usually ideas can't seem to measure up to Neptune's canon crack... I'd cross it over with The Heroes of Olympus, but NO ONE in that group is het enough to reproduce! Though that really shouldn't stop me...

So, Greco-roman, Egyptian, and possibly Norse gods (his next series), get together to try and 'repel' and invasion of alien goddesses and demigods... who only really want to try out their pudding, cosplay, BL novels and video games, honest, we're not up to anything evil...

I have given you at least one idea: Throw them into the pileup. Hayate still needs a harem to replace the one that went to Nodoka, and Histoire can always serve as a replacement to Reinforce for her.

For some reason, I keep thinking about a Neptunia and Steven Universe crossover. Well, not exactly a crossover and more like a Fusion Fic with Neptunia characters replacing Steven Universe characters while keeping something resembling their personalities from the games and changing some of the canon.

I already have some character matchups, though I admit they don't fit quite as well as I'd like. Blanc would be Garnet. Though she's much more ill-tempered than Garnet, she's still somewhat stoic and quiet. I kind of want to make her a fusion of Rom and Ram, but I can see the implications that it might bring.

Vert would be Amethyst. This is probably the matchup that works the least. Vert is much less of a hedonist than Amethyst, but I would still see her as someone who would rather goof off than do work. Also, since she's the only American console of the group, it kind of parallels with Amethyst being a gem made on Earth instead of the Homeworld.

Noire would be Pearl. This is probably the matchup that fits the most, being responsible and a Tsundere. Not to mention the fact that she would have unrequited feelings for Neptune, who is Rose Quartz.

Nepgear would be Steven. Yeah, she's the daughter of Neptune instead of the younger sister. In fact, none of the CP Us have sisters in this story idea. I was thinking of having Uni as Connie (who would be mentored by Noire, I might add) and Rom and Ram are already mentioned above.

And instead of having gems, they would have CPU memories. Yeah, this is just an idea I had that won't leave me alone. I don't know if anything will actually come of it.

Vert is actually not lazy when it comes to her work. In fact, the only CPU that actually ditches work to goof off is Neptune, and that's because she's spoiled by Nepgear who does Neptune's job for her.

I did say that the matchup worked the least. Besides, Amethyst is competent at her job.

Vert as Student Council President and Noire as Student Council Vice President. Does something seem off about that to any of you?

Yes, actually. Vert doesn't shirk her job, but she doesn't take additional responsibilities that aren't hers either. That really is Noire's style.

Anyway, so I decided to cheat on Civ V just to see how hilariously short a game can be and... Well, I won Culture Domination on, I think, 1000 BC.

Since that wasn't anywhere near enough, I reached Industrial Era by 440 BC.

And because I was playing as Nep Nep, who has a 15% boost to all units' strength, I then went and conquered the entirety of the world by rolling in tanks all over everyone's cities around the time Jesus was crucified.

Give me a few minutes and I'll build a freaking spaceship just to be clear.

Fun fun. Also, I should note that Plutia and P-ko have been added to the roster for Blanc's game. And has Uzume achieved Breakout Character status, or something like? She's been added to the crossover game, too.

And still no release date for Victory II. The fuck's going on withcha, IFI?

Seriously, V II is way higher priority than Re;Birth 3.

It and Gran Turismo 7 are literally the reasons I'm gonna be buying a PS 4, so get to it, ya fools!

You're not getting Disgaea 5?

It's not gonna be a true Disgaea game, though. NIS went and pissed off a bunch of their employees, who jumped ship to Compile Heart. That's why Nisa is no longer in the Neptunia games. That, IIRC, included the director for the Disgaea games. It's part of the explanation as to why Disgaea 5 doesn't really look like a Disgaea game.

They made Star an element you can resist. STAR. The element explicitly created so that NO RESISTANCES OR WEAKNESSES WERE PRESENT, the one element that could never be made useless by an enemy with high resistances. IE, they defeated the point of the Star Element. Definitely not promising. I'll wait and see. It might wind up being a good game... NIS isn't Fuckonami, after all... But I consider it as much of a Disgaea game as any Post-Kojima MGS title is a MGS game.

Neptunia V II dlc character confirmed to be a playa (read the comments for understanding).

She can't really do it with the real Nepgear and Uni, so she does it with self-made copies instead? Intriguing.

And what's better than 1 Nepgear and Uni, 2 Nepgear and Uni.

Wasn't there an Evility as far back as 3 that gave you Star resistance?.

That's an evility, they can get away with doing stuff like that. Plus, if it was, then it wasn't in Disgaea 4 or DD 2.

I think it was spell imunity or special immunity and I boss monsters in Disgaea 2 had that as their gimic while I think Sky Dragons had spell immunity in the same game. I don't remember who got special immunity though but I think it was a monster.

Pretty sure there's not an Evility like that in 4. I'd have encountered it by now if there was, I figure.

I'm not talking about immunity.

Immunity is easy to deal with, because that tends to be an exclusive evility that you'll only see on a particular kind of monster, class or boss.

Resistances, though, tend to be randomized, and you can just bet that D5's version of Baal will have 99% Star resistance, rendering magic basically useless against him without consuming an evility slot.

Also, we're probably gonna have a goddamned 2016 international release for V II.

There seems to be a surprisingly small amount of fanfiction idea discussion. But since this is still the place for it, here's a concept I thought of, but am not sure I could write well.

Ultradimension Pluto: D

Plutia and Niore are on a walk when a girl falls from the sky on top of them - along with a gigantic sword that barely misses impaling someone. She's apparently a teenager, but claims to be a Console Patron Unit - and panics at the sight of Niore, is nervous and close to tears in general, and refuses to let her weapon out of her sight. Naturally, Plutia decides to drag this "Nepgear" home and try to forge a friendship with her.

And in another dimension...

"I-I'm sorry! I didn't mean it like that! Don't kill... Huh? Where did she go? ...Did I do that? Heheh... she's gone. The last one is gone!"

So, yeah. The Conquest ending's version of HDN 3.

I'd imagine that, should she not need it, Nepgear would want Gehaburn to be tossed into the fucking sun, just so that she doesn't have to look at it.
