I'm definitely liking the writing, art style and characters so far. I'm pretty picky when it comes to webcomics so as long as they schedule keeps up I'm adding this to my list.
I'm not sure that I envy that rat's position...
So, it does indeed look like this is a summoning of some sort. I stand by my guess that this is Thistle being summoned out of the afterlife.
My Games & WritingI prefer not to speculate on this kind of stuff until we're told.
Fair enough; for myself, I find such speculation rather fun, especially if it manages to spark debate.
My Games & WritingMeh, for me it ruins The Reveal if one of the 30 posters already guessed it.
Fair enough again—simply don't click my spoilers, in that case.
(It doesn't have that effect for me, I don't think.)
Hmm... But in that case, what would you like to discuss regarding the comic?
My Games & WritingI tend to comment only on things that have actually happened, not on things that haven't yet. 8-)
Considering the slow update schedule, I doubt I'll have much to say more than once every month or two.
Okay. I fear that there's little to discuss for the moment, then (unless you have something to comment on, at least), as we seem to currently be the only two posting here.
My Games & WritingWell, I've started following it, although some of the pages don't really load properly for me. There's not a whole lot out to form basis for speculation at this point, but I've definitely got my eye on it.
...eventually, we will reach a maximum entropy state where nobody has their own socks or underwear, or knows who to ask to get them back.Urgh, latest page is super disturbing O_o
Yes, yes it is. ^_^
(That poor, poor rat, though. :/)

I just spotted this on the trope page:

My Games & WritingI didn't see any either.
The comic is still fairly new, and the archives not too long, so I skimmed back over the previous pages. Aside from some rather ambiguous elements—architecture similar to some in our world, and a carriage from our history, and what may be either a robotic or magical arm on one woman—one page did stand out: On this page, the first panel has a hawker selling "relics from a bygone age", which appear to include a video tape, a telephone handset, a baseball, Pokemon items, a Furbie, and iPods.
(Looking at that page again, I'd love to know what words are being covered up in the second panel, aside from "the world is dead"... (I'd guess that the last covered word is "demons".))
By the way, I strongly suspect that the "cave-elf language" in the early pages is just a substitution cipher... I've started to attempt a decoding, but I'm in two minds, for fear of spoilers. (To my mind speculation is quite different from reading something spoilery in official work; perhaps simply because speculation is still of undecided accuracy.)
[edit] Naturally, a look at the comments reveals that someone seems to have beaten me to it. Ah well.

My Games & WritingHuh, looks like another comic based on D&D 3.5 (a modified version, that is). note Color me interested.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Wow, that totally passed me by. Really interesting.
New page! Things didn't go well for the rat.
And wow, all those poor, poor animals...
It seems that my earlier speculation was incorrect: what we were seeing appears now to in fact be the job for which the group was hired, and which Thistle refused.
Whether that refusal stands is another question (it seems unlikely, especially given the chapter name.
By the way, once you've read the page, scroll down for a really cool "depth image" version of the second panel; while not perfect, the effect is quite impressive, I find!
My Games & WritingVery cool indeed.
Nice, a new fantasy webcomic. I really like the team dynamics so far. Seems there are two sensible people in the team and two who are ... not.
Wow, that green-clad elf guy looks evil. I somewhat root for the demon-thingy.
Oh no! Thistle is in trouble! Stupid people, I'm sure Thistle has done nothing wrong!
Ha! I called it! He's totally evil and totally going to team up with the demon!
I doubt it, myself: his expression is rather stern, and I imagine that this Drath isn't the first to try temptation. My guess is that he'll turn down the deal, and use it as a teaching point for his students.
Interestingly, if the comments section for the comic is to be believed, then the spell that he's using against the Drath—the "old words", as it calls them—are excerpts from the Bible. (I haven't verified the transliteration myself.) More evidence, it seems, that this world is the far future of our own...

My Games & Writing
I just today discovered a new comic: Daughter of the Lillies.
The first page should be here, and the current page at time of writing here. Warning: potential Nightmare Fuel, including (mild, I think) body horror.
When I first followed the link to the comic, I didn't expect to stay long, but "one more page" became one more and one more again; the characters interested me, and the mystery of Thistle enticed me, and so I decided to keep reading.
In short, Daughter of the Lillies is a fantasy webcomic following a group of mercenaries. At time of writing it seems that the story is still being set up, but we've already had a bit of action (featuring cannibalistic elves) and some mystery (featuring Thistle).
Since the comic is at such an early stage, I'll defer to the comic's own "about" page for a fuller description:
Brent, a brutish, freelancing adventurer, realizes that he's fallen for his coworker, Thistle: a shy, talented Mage who considers herself a monster, and who is relentlessly pursued by a tyrannical dictator.
Daughter of the Lilies is a comic largely about the importance self-worth, the different forms love can take, and issues relating to anxiety. (There are also unicorns, manticores, ghouls, goblins, cannibalistic elves, and so on.)
As to the title, I'm inclined to guess that it refers to Thistle: after all, she seems to have a thing for floral names, and her nature seems to be the central mystery of the narrative thus far.
As to Thistle, based on what we've seen and the most recent page, I'm inclined to guess that she's undead, an escapee from whatever horrifying presumed afterlife or otherworld was shown in that page. Additionally, that would perhaps explain why she keeps her face hidden, and why it has so... alarming an effect on that cave-elf. It would also fit in well with pages that seem to show her having attempted to return to a community that no longer wants her.
We've seen that she objects to the summoning of "drackthmal"—are those perhaps the corpse-like people in the "pit", or the creatures around them? Based on her objections, it does seem as though they might be something demonic... Was she herself the result of such a summoning, that perhaps being the light shown in the most recent page?
