To speak of the utter collapse of third party income...
Zocklabs is making a 1st person experience game for Oculus Rift and the NX... But the team doesn't even have an NX dev kit! (or so they claim)
So is this a stupid move by Zocklabs, or do they actually have a Dev kit and are lying? If it's the former, it'll probably bite them on the ass hard, but if it's the latter, then the rumors of the NX being a VR console might be true...
Total Biscuit talks about Nintendo NX and its plan for VR. Ok I know the headline is a sensationalist "NX delayed", but trust me the actual topic is Nintendo's possible plan for VR.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! What's there to talk about? Surely he knows just as much as everyone else, i.e. basically nothing.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Yes but if one mentions the NX in any way that presents themselves as knowing more than the average person, they get attention. :/
I'm sad. You talk like speculating is bad just because it's a divisive internet personality doing it.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! No I'm not. I'm just saying that speculating at this point is rather pointless since everyone's just saying the same basic things and there's nothing to really base speculations on. Case in point:
The NX will be released 25 August 2019 with a MSRP of 399 USD. It'll have a dimension of 15x6x32 inches, weight 13 US pounds, and will come with a matte rainbow finish. All games will be available on flash cards a la the 3DS as well as digitally and it can cross play with a handheld device that will be released Q1 2020.
While some of my speculation is patently absurd, my point is that, based on the information we actually have, it's just as valid as any serious speculation because nothing we know contradicts it.
You're free to appreciate baseless conjecture all you wish. I just fail to see the point in it.
Also, I don't recall ever see one of Total Biscuits videos and I know basically nothing about them. I don't care if it's some famous Internet personality or your Aunt Petunia talking about it.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!My uncle Vernon works at Nintendo and told me that your assumptions are 100% correct, I'll let you know.

Check out my YouTube-channel, if you wantI'm pretty sure an industry expert is more qualified to talk about it than Aunt Petunia.
But whatever, I'm done talking with contrarians.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes! You didn't mention it only has 64GB of memory!
4x My coffee grounds also told me that it will ship with a playable demo of the new Zelda.

In a more general sense, can I ask something?
What, exactly, is the big draw of VR besides novelty? To me, it seems like the mother of all shallow gimmicks.

I sure said that!Depends on the level of Virtual Reality. The end-goal is complete and total immersion in a fictional world.
New Leak, next Zelda will be "Zelda nXXX" ... or possibly "Legend of XXXelda: A Link to her Pleasure". Nintendo plans to leave that kiddy-image for good this time. It's totally legit, guys, Uncle Vernon told me so.

Ugh, more of Nintendo refusing to acknowledge that the internet exists and is for these kinds of things.
I once had an idea of a special skintight suit that is laced with metal wires that press against your body, simulating virtual 3-D enviroments and stopping you from clipping through objects. Science has gotten REALLY far, I wouldn't be surprised at all to have functioning Virtual Reality in my own lifetime.

Something like the Holodeck is likely well beyond our reach at this moment in time but something like the Nerve Gear is 100% doable and is actually mostly possible with our current technology level (we already have robotic limbs that chimps control with their brains so having that signal control a virtual avatar is definitely feasible). Depending on how well the market does and how technology progresses, I could see it being in a thing in 20 or so years.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Nerve Gear will probably come out before Holodeck-like technology. In fact, the Nerve Gear is probably a better idea anyways-a Holodeck has to deal with non-virtual physics potentially getting in its way (for example, it would need to do a clever work around to make the room look bigger than it is. A glitch in its system could easily injure someone, as well. In fact, the Enterprise had to deal with this all the time), while a Nerve Gear doesn't have to deal with any of that. The NG runs into a different problem though, of having to instantly and temporarily paralyze someone while it's in use.
With VR tech, the point is increased immersion. We don't necessarily need full-on nerve gear. A game played on VR is still more immersive than one played in front of a TV.

I sure said that! You could get there, with Wii Motion Plus or Playstation Move being able to map your movements. Even Kinect could work well with VR, though the fuller controllers would allow you to do things like walk around without having to move.
Some nice graphs. The second one is pretty much what we all knew.
