We will just have to wait and see how this pans out.
Who watches the watchmen?I'll take Ford's statement with a grain of salt (as I do in regards to anyone who says "this is the best thing ever" or something similar).
Nonetheless, it looks promising. Question now is: who could play the female character?
Wasn't HF supposed to be retiring or something?
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane.Three words.
Oh. Hell. Why?
Does Ford REALLY need the money that much after all the fat Star Wars Episode VII loot he will be trousering?
If ever a film really did not need a sequel it's Blade Runner. Fact.
For once I am not entirely sure this will be a good idea.
Who watches the watchmen?Remakes that would add something to the original I would say are worth it, as are sequels. The world would have been poorer for the absence of Terminator 2, Aliens and Godfather Part III. It would be better if Akira was remade as an anime using or having access the full script to the manga which wasn't available at the time the film was made.
But this?
>that feel when none of the sets and practical special effects that made the first one so mindblowing will be in this one
>that feel when they're almost certainly gonna make Deckard a Replicant, never mind that that raises more questions than it answers and completely undermines the story arc

It's happening.
Harrison Ford and one of the first movie's writers (Hampton Fancher) are returning, with Ridley Scott as executive producer. Denis Villeneuve is directing.
It's apparently not going to be a big, actionized, special effects heavy sequel, the protagonist is going to be female, and Ford has read the script and says "this is the best thing I've ever read."
I think it may be good. Villeneuve is a great director, and the script is apparently awesome.
