I wonder... To anyone who's read the Barks and Rosa comics,do you dislike that the reboot gives HDL,separate personalities,HDL call him Uncle instead of 'Unca',AND that only one of them is a Junior Woodchuck this time around? I've come across fans of the comics that couldn't stand that. Basically,do you dislike some of the changes the reboot does in comparison to the comics?

[up]Hell no. I adore that HD&L have their own personalities rather than just being some sort of collective hive mind. What's the point of having three triplets if they're really just going to be the same character? You might as well just have the one. This way, not only is there a point to having three of them, but you for all intents and purposes get two new characters out of the bargain. It's a win-win.

I thought Dewey was green and Louie was blue pretty much my whole life. I only learned Dewey was blue and Louie was green a few months ago.

They always stand in the order their names are spoken...

I never memorised their name and colour, though I always had this inkling Louie was the green one.

The divergent personalities will be helpful. Still not grown to the adult pitched voices though. Even if they wanted something less like Russi Taylor or Clarence Nash's quacking ones, something younger but more audible could have worked, like say the voices they have in Quack Pack or Scrooge Mc Duck and Money.

So, who's ready to get dangerous? Just the fact that they finally confirmed that Jim will be returning, just makes me have this big goofy smile on my face! This just made me night!

I like that the triplets have three different spellings for the same "oo-ee" sound in their names.

Speaking of the triplets, new promo.

Supposedly, according to my DirecTV listings, there's going to be two new episodes this weekend.

I hope it's true because that'll make the withdrawal issues coming after December less agonizing.

In this case, Scrooge has every right to chastise him for wasting perfectly good stuff.

Everyone has every right to chastise him. Basically all the time. It comes with the Evil Triplet mantle.

He's being pointlessly wasteful here and it's hilarious.

I wonder if Scrooge will give him an hour long lecture, on why it's good not be wasteful.

Well, Scrooge is a self-made man, so he pretty much is justified in pretty careful about his money.

He's self made and he grew up poor. So he knows the value of a Dollar.

Also I think he would hate the "I don't care as long as it's not my money" mentality. A lot can be said about Scrooge's flaws when it comes to being greedy, but on certain things about appreciating the money you have can be seen as positive.

As a fan of Barks, I don't mind the changes wrought by the show. The individual personalities don't really bother me; even in Barks' comics, the boys weren't always singular in thought, word, and deed (just most of the time). Donald is toned down considerably, though I am glad to see him keeping at least some of his legendary temper.

Yeah, in this version Donald is more fatherly and somewhat patient with the boys than he was in the past. The boys are still mischievous, but they have lessened down on their hellion antics.

[up]Donald showing off Baby pictures of the triplets is too adorable for words.

I really really like Donald in this show. He's still angry and unlucky, but also awesome when he has to be, and has that incredible persistence that always characterized him in the comics, as well as the new element of being a loving single parent. It's arguably the most mature version of this character, and I just love it.

Very few of the reviews I've seen mention Donald's awesomeness in this. It's sort of overshadowed by everything else that's going on, but In the second half of the pilot, we see him weaponizing his clumsiness, and managing to stop Dewy from becoming fried Duck in the Death Trap. It's a level of competence and quick thinking we've never gotten out of him before, but at the same time managing to still make everything so recognizably Donald.

In the comics while the boys were often indistinguishable, they were also often more along the lines of interchangeable. There were distinct personalities and ways of interacting with each other propped up from time to time, but they were never associated with a distinct triplet.

Speaking of triplet interchangability, one funny, random thing I'd love for this show to do is make an episode around Phooey Duck (basically, a mistakenly drawn extra triplet that appears when the artists screw up).

Like if anyone remembers that episode of Star Trek where they crew gets knocked out, and when they wake up there's an extra main character, but nobody can remember that he's not supposed to be there? Something like that, but with Magica or something.

I think cool part about triplets now is that now they feel different even when they "sync up". For example, they spent most of the first episode (first half of two-parter) doing the same thing, but pay attention to what each triplet brings up when they talk about Scrooge being cool.
