Er, anecdotal evidence of misuse is not sufficient to make a thread about it. Furthermore, the trope's usage for "dragons" is sort of within scope - the "Our X are Different" name pattern ages ago was linked to higher example quality.

The original use for this trope is "Dragons are different from culture to culture". However, I have seen a lot of use for "Dragons... Just Dragons". It seems to be used like the name is "Everything's Better With Dragons". I have also seen a bit of this for the other "Our X Are Different" tropes, but this is the worst offender.
