I'm loving the mobile friendly version of TV Tropes, but one problem I am having is when I want to see what a URL leads to without leaving the page I'm on, usually when the link is not the trope name.

Sometimes the link is short enough, like this, but sometimes they are completely cut off, like this. Turning the phone to landscape orientation doesn't help. The option to have a shortened link would be fantastic.

My super-tech-wishlist-request would be that when you click a link on mobile, it would pop up a box that says what the linked trope is, with options to go to the link, open in new window, or add to a "read later" list. I was using Android Troper before the web site change, and the read later list was a great help when falling down the TV Tropes link following hole on my phone. But in terms of usability, a short URL would make a big difference to me, and probably other mobile users too.

I am in the same situation! I actually still use Android Troper on my phone for exactly this reason.

I've noticed that the touch-hold menu (with open link in new tab etc.) on Firefox will use whatever is in the title attribute for <a> tags which allows for shortened titles on some other wikis. I'd like to see this on TV Tropes. Currently the title tags are just the full addresses.

Sometimes when I hover over an intrawiki link the name of the trope it leads to will pop up in hovertext. It's kind of chintzy though, and mobile always pops up the full URL.

Bump; is this still happening in the new mobile format?
