I believe that TotalBiscuit noted in his "Arbitrary Video Game Awards - 2014" that an expansion was released that addressed both its ease and brevity to some degree.
I haven't played the game myself, but it does look good.

My Games & WritingAh, I have yet to play the expansion! Glad to know it helps in increase the difficulty level as well as brevity of the game. I wonder how it'll expand on the narrative, knowing what happens to Ida in the end of the original levels...
And oh god I didn't notice the hyphenation there! Shame on me for attempting to link to some tropes while still being new to the forums here...
[edit] fixed ;)

"Listen, all magic is scientific principals presented like 'mystical hoodoo' which is fun, but it's sort of irresponsible."the expansion is pretty good actually. It has lesser levels (8) and they're definitely more difficult than the original game.
Another level was released exclusively in December called Ida's Red Dream.
Student Researcher, Student of Human Computer Interaction, Like any books with or without prophecies!Monument Valley just grabbed the most awards at the Game Developer's Choice awards ceremony at GDC 2015!
- Innovation Award
- Best Visual Art
- Best Handheld/Mobile Game
It also popped up in a couple of House of Cards episodes in season 3. A brief appearance, but Frank actually mentioned the game by name and described it. Quite rare indeed, especially when Hollywood has the bad habit of throwing whatever random game they find onscreen and not even bothering to be accurate.
Might have to check out the expansion if it's more of a challenge. The vanilla game was sort of boring.
Surprise.
Oh that's lovely. The first was such a great surprise. I'll be picking this up in the not-too-distant future.
I'm not sure why there isn't a thread for this already. For those who don't know, Monument Valley is a scenery porn laden iOS game with gameplay that revolves around navigating a world of bizarrchitecture. Critics complain about it feeling short with fairly easy gameplay, but some think the fantastic environments and narrative more than make up for it.
