Evangelion AU RP: Gods of Steel- Signup/Interest Check

I've been wanting to make a Shinto-themed AU of Evangelion. The main premise of how things work in the AU is that Second Impact happened at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean. The Katsuragi Expedition was exploring a series of underwater tunnels near the Marianas Trench where they uncovered the Amenonuhoko, a massive polearm-like artifact. They extracted the Amenonuhoko, but something unexpected happened when the massive weapon breached the water's surface. Sudden quakes and volcanic activity in the Pacific Ocean heralded the awakening of a giant seemingly made of light, an entity dubbed 'Izanagi'. It took plunging the Amenonuhoko into the chest of Izanagi to stop it from causing any more destruction, and even that caused a lot of damage- thermal heat released from Amenonohoku and Izanagi touching vaporized ocean water faster than any natural event, causing long-term weather changes that brought intense rain around the world.

During the disasters of Second Impact, NERV found the Black Moon wherein 'Izanami' was contained.

Fast forward to now. NERV is humanity's sole defense from giant eldritch abominations called 'Kami' for their godlike power to shrug off heavy artillery with their AT-Fields. NERV's weapon against the Kami are the three Evangelion units- Unit 'Tsukuyomi', Unit 'Susanoo', and Unit 'Amaterasu'.

The choice is simple: survival or extinction.

The battle will not be as simple...

—- So yeah, Evangelion with different units (will post images later) and Shinto lore instead of Judeo-Christian symbolism.

• Appearance: A picture works fine here but some words on stuff like relative height still help.

• Name: Yuan Lai
• Age: 29
• Gender: Male
• Occupation: NERV Director of Operations
• Appearance: This guy. (6'1") Walks with a limp, often suffers chronic pain in his right leg.
• Backstory: Formerly a citizen of China, Yuan survived the hell that was Second Impact. His home was flooded in the torrential downpours that came down on China, and he escaped to Russia, a country in upheaval during Second Impact. There, he was a mercenary until he got shot in his leg and nearly lost all functionality in it. However, NERV approached him, offering to employ him for his combat experience to guide the pilots of the Evangelion units.
• Personality: Yuan Lai is a quiet, intense person. He doesn't like talking about his personal life or feelings, and can be a bit insensitive to others. He's a perfectionist, and he can be cynical at times. Yuan would rather be friendless than jobless. He holds people to high standards and does not accept apologies easily.
• Skills: Skilled tactician, knowledgeable in engineering and chemistry. Experienced with firearms, including sniper rifles and heavy weapons. Fluent in Chinese, English, Russian, and Japanese.

I've got a NERV lieutenant character I've used in previous Eva R Ps, but I kinda didn't have quite as much fun with him the last time I used him. I'll keep an eye on these sign-ups though.

I might have interest in this,but I'm not very familiar with shinto mythology.

That's alright, most of the Judeo-Christian lore in NGE was basically window dressing.
