Isn't that like, really common in anime?
Anyway, it seems the Takumi may be also collecting stones (as payment for their services)...but to what end?
Give the God Eater game thread some love!Suddenly, drama
Also, going by the ED, it looks like we skipped a group?
I mean, it did look like that, but one of the people in the 'skipped' group showed up to help Ai at the end there, so make of that what you will.
"Canada Day is over, and now begins the endless dark of the Canada Night."I had a feeling Nozomi and Ai were gonna have a...disagreement.
Looks like Shutendoji's in the stone-selling business.
Full moons are a rarity these days, huh? I wonder if there's a reason for Chiaya to return to her home world. Or maybe the boss lady just wants her gone.
Masami's recovering well. And Shigyo's cowering in fear. Yikes.
Yukina's actually good at drawing. But if she's not doing it for the art.
And it looks like the Ishizu Pirates know a thing or two about aliens as well...
Welcome to Hiroshima, where everything will probably go down.

I haven't been keeping up with this thread and the anime. Is the show still good? (I would go back and read the posts but I want to stay spoiler-free).

I am wondering what purpose Yukina actually serves. Every other member of the gang has role to play and a stake in the plot and themes, while she's just... there.
What's precedent ever done for us?So I saw the first 2 dubbed episodes.
Looks like fun.
At first, I had no idea what to make of it. But based on what I've seen, if I had to describe it in a sentence, it's...
A Sci-Fi action/adventure, coming-of-age, road trip Dramedy with cute girls on motorcycles, superhumans, and remnants of a Sci-Fi Tokyo civil war.
EDIT: So how accurate was that?

Close, but not quite. You forgot colorful.

In that case, it's...
A colorful Sci-Fi action/adventure, coming-of-age, road trip Dramedy with cute girls on motorcycles, superhumans, and remnants of a Sci-Fi Tokyo civil war.
Say, to ask a serious question regarding something the anime uses, exactly how is the social status quo for motorcycles in real life Japan? Are they a common mode of personal transportation or are they obscure compared to motorcycles in America?
@ Fat Bastard If you liked the first few episodes you're gonna like the rest of them.
Was wondering about Yukina too. It's still unclear why she joined the group, and she doesn't seem interested in Nozomi's quest and the stones.
Huh. They're doing weird things to those folktales
What an intro.
Wait I saw mention of a dub. How are they dubbing something that hasn't even finished being subbed yet? I know they did it with Space Dandy but that was a weird case of the dub and the sub airing each episode simultaneously.
They're working with what has been aired
Oh, the prez is also an alien. That explains a lot. Masami's mind was totally blown.
Ai's chilling with Momotaro. And the monkey's a sloth and the bird's an ostrich(the one that attacked Ai, by the way).
Tax collecting is a pain.
Yukina and Momiyama infiltrate the Ishizuri hideout their own way. And got busted easily. And Yukina was trying to do good, too.
Kaguya unleashes her inner punk and bamboo cuts up some punks. Still, that was an awesome and painful scene...
"It just sort of happened?" Oh, Chiaya, you silly octo alien, you.
Momo challenges the oppressive regime! She will be the dawn that will burn away the night! ...Right?
Nozomi, do not assist that shifty robo person. It will surely destroy any chance you have in re-establishing good relations with Kaguya.
Masami and Shigyo are coming! Can they still be awesome, the way they are now?
I found it interesting how while the President described that the UFO crashed, it looked to me that it was shot down (see the converging beams coming FROM the ground). Which begs the question, what could have existed in the 1600s capable of dropping a UFO from clear across the atmosphere...
Welp, looks like the Momotaro side of the story was successfully resolved. Funny that, Momo has two moms, but not in the way defined by the wiki here... Also, was I imagining things, but were they implying that Ura Kukino's faithful second-in-command was Momo's dad?
Now all that's left is the Tale of the Bamboo Cutter and, maybe, a flight to the moon!
Yeah, I had only realized until this episode they were doing folklore.
So Professor's been amnesiac and that last antagonist is 'fuck yo honor and humanity cuz society betrayed me'
okay
Ai unlocked her potential, and...was still the same old Ai. Either she really doesn't have the specs to be a Best, or she borrowed a stone that she didn't gain through an earnest wish.
But it's alright, cuz she was saved by the dog.
Ah, so Ura had to play the role of villain. For Okayama's peace. Due to such circumstances, Momo has two mothers.
The "tax collector" Nozomi ran into...wasn't. He's actually a good guy. And Kaguya dispelled her hate towards Nozomi. Yes!
Asking Yukina to lead them is like asking for a death sentence. But they don't know that.
Shima's right hand has amnesia. And he has the same eye color as Chi. ...And he saw fragments of when his ship got shot down. ...Yes, I'm just realizing that he's the professor.
Masami and Shigyo, here to save the...day...?
The time has come for Kaguya to dispense some bamboo cutting justice to a rowdy branch member. It will be delicious. It will be glorious. It's gonna have some trouble being carried out against a super robot.
"Special powers", my feet! Masami and Shigyo got duped hard.
Now, will they reach for the moon?
As long as the New world symphony plays during a fist fight on it, I'm game for a moon battle.
Watch SymphogearSo I just saw eps 10 and 11 back to back and honestly, it felt like they realized "Oh yeah, we only have twelve episodes, might as well just shove in all the stuff we wanted to do!"
Really, a show where the premise is "normal girls go on a roadtrip through a Japan filled with superheroes" is a show that shouldn't be twelve episodes long. I get the distinct impression that the creator's wanted more episodes.
Even then, I feel this isn't an excuse. They could have compressed their plots a little more in order to tell a tighter story.
I also feel this show is trying to imitate Kill La Kill, and like most imitations, it barely understands why the original worked so well.

Even then you're way off — the creators never intended to ape a particular style, but in the end admitted to being influenced by early Gainax shows, specifically (you should expect this by now) FLCL.
I stopped watching KLK fairly early on so all I remember about it was fanservice and rape jokes, but this show seems to have an intentionally quite different tone. Why do you think the main characters are all Rest sitting on the sidelines of more interesting people doing more interesting things?
Well, that was... unsatisfying. All the show's problems with convoluted plots, uneven character focus, and tonal dissonance conspired to make for a finale with little emotional impact
The part where it's obvious that she's not singing while standing/running on the cannon really bugs me. What is this, lip syncing?
