Values Dissonance is a YMMV trope, but for some reason Moral Dissonance is not. I feel like it really should be, since it IS an Audience Reaction Trope.

Moral Dissonance is if the actions of the hero contradict his rhetoric; this is related with hipocrisy, not Values Dissonance.

  • Moral Dissonance — Richard Rhal yells at Zed for killing unarmed crowds, then does the same thing while believing he is right and Zed is still wrong.
  • Values Dissonance — Richard Rhal kills a crowd of unarmed men. Audience can't believe this is treated as a victory.
