Twisted Metal 2 was one of the best PS 1 games let alone the best in the series. Black was like the sequel to TM 2.

The reboot doesn't have much single player content, nor does it have a lot of people playing online nowadays.

To begin, let's describe Twisted Metal in trope terms. Twisted Metal is Be Careful What You Wish For the series. Run by the insidious and extremely powerful Calypso, the Twisted Metal competition is a life-or-death, reality-warping automobile contest that claims the lives of several hundreds, maybe thousands of people each year it is held. As the games evolve, a continuity of sorts is established.
The initial contest was held on Christmas Eve in the City of Angels. Calypso, as the founder and ringleader, offers the winner, usually the sole survivor, the prize of a single, unlimited wish - whatever their true heart desires.
As you can imagine, this quickly creates a tournament between the Earth's most Bad Ass psychopaths and drivers.
Calypso puts it best, in the beginning of Twisted Metal 2.
