Am I the only one who experiences this? It's mostly on Firefox though, it got a bit better with Chrome. I'd like to know why. Is it because of ads or there's something I need to delete in my App Data to fix this? Or I need to install an ad-blocker?

I have lag problems recently as well.

Did this go like this in previous versions too?

This is the main reason why I hate ads so much. The keep on slowing everything down.

I don't think so. Switch to Chrome and things got better.

[up] I am using Chrome. It's the ads that are the problem.

I blame Flash. It's becoming my boogeyman and escapegoat nowadays. tongue

It might be true because that program is becoming a fucking mess. I can barely watch videos on the new Channel Awesome site, with Flash disabled by default, because the videos now have a pair of tiny adds that load with them when I re-enable it. The ads run perfectly, what I came to watch is a slide show.

Otherwise...no idea. I'm having a little bit of lag myself. Don't remember if Firefox updated recently or what they may have changed to possibly slow it down or be less efficient.

It's the adds. I'm running the current version of Firefox with Addblock and pages load right up with no lag whatsoever. If I turn adblock off, the load rate slows to a crawl.

I had lag even with adblocker on a few days ago, but I'm pretty sure that was just my computer being reduced to a gelatinous cube due to other running applications. Flash being one of them via You Tube. But other than that I've never had any trouble, with or without ads.

TV Tropes can chew up a surprising amount of memory anyway, but on my Surface RT 1 recently (which can only run IE, which I prefer to use in Metro mode which seems to be buggier and prone to crashes, and doesn't have a whole lot of memory and never more than a gigabyte of hard drive space) it got to the point where if I didn't hit the stop button as soon as I could I was condemning the process containing the page to need to be closed. At least with Firefox or Chrome they isolate Flash in its own process and I can close it without needing to reload the entire page and go through the whole thing all over again.

This is why I asked in the Kickstarter thread if the Kickstarter would help us be less prone to this sort of thing, even if we aren't that much less dependent on ads.
