It's entirely possible that these women are just more compatible with his Psycho Power than any male besides Ryu (since, as was pointed out, Akuma isn't having any of that shit).

He's just playing the hand he's been dealt. I imagine if a male character that was good came along, he'd try and steal that dude's body.

Laura now officially revealed. Capcom even had a statue of her comissioned!

Plus, Combofiend's blog post confirms her last name is Matsuda, meaning she's in someway related to Sean.

She's one of the brand new fighters, People are gonna flock to her for various reasons alone -She's not Blanka-

To me, an ensemble Darkhorse in fighting game is a character that like showed up once but is always popularly demanded even if they're clunky to play

Darkhorse is someone that the author never thought it would be popular, but it's popular anyway. I think there's even a discussion going on if the trope is being misused.
