Megas XLR got destroyed permanently, so it is possible. I think it has to do with tax writeoffs or something, where companies declare a work a loss to get the tax money back, but then can never ever make revenue off of it again or something?
No, from what I understand it's in legal limbo, not destroyed permanently. Unless they destroyed the masters it isn't completely gone.
And they apparently only gave up the broadcasting rights, so who knows?...
(The big question is - how many of CN's other shows had this happen? Was Sheep In The Big City enough of a failure it had to be written off? Or Time Squad?)

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."If CN doesn't consider that kind of behavior a red flag, I don't know what is considered a red flag.
EDIT: Commencing Darkton's usual comment of "always bet on CN for failure" in 3...2...1...

I thought "Sheep" was pretty well done.

"We be we baby!"So did a lot of people, but the big question here is "Was it enough of a failure that CN wrote off the show and it can't air on TV?"
Judging by my limited understanding of law, I don't think so. Sheep, Time Squad, Robot Jones, Mike, Lu and Og, and so on didn't last long, but I don't think they were failures enough to be called a tax write off. You notice how all the shows CN has written off were action shows, which cost a lot to produce?
I think they might have used characters from all the shows I mentioned in official promotions for CN's 20th anniversary, so who knows?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."There you go.
I don't know what that means about whether they can still air the shows. Evil Con Carne didn't last long and probably would have been written off given the way it was treated, yet it appeared on Cartoon Planet a while back... The I Am Weasel spinoff is similar. Presumably they all made a profit of some sort, but didn't do well in the ratings.
I can recall a poster for the 20th anniversary that had Robot Jones on it.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."CN's stuff isn't on Netflix and they barely have anything on Hulu.
Somebody ought to find out what the deal is with these shows. Are they in legal limbo or is it just disinterest?

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Well Netflix didn't do a good job either. They only had the first 2 seasons of Regular show and Adventure time and their classic shows usually were incomplete(with some of them having the second half of the series but not the first half). And CN's website doesn't have all the episodes of their shows available to stream. Just some random ones of a lot of them. And other shows are just clips of episodes.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013Netflix at least had a good selection of the old and new.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Yeah but the old shows that were on it weren't available as a whole and the only new shows (IIRC) were Regular Show, Adventure Time, Young Justice(only one season) and Green Lantern(also one season). In fact I'm pretty sure the only show that was on netflix as a whole was Robotomy(which was a few episodes).
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013I've got my own complaints, but this ain't the time or the place for them.
Speaking of Megas XLR, it's apparently still on iTunes... "Destroyed permanently," heh?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."The point is, though, there's a future for all these shows. They can't be broadcast again but that doesn't mean we won't be able to see them again.
If all of CN's two-season comedies have been written off - which I don't think they have; comedies aren't as expensive to produce as action shows - there might be a future for them yet.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."The Moxy Show was a series of wraparounds for cartoons. That doesn't count.
Cartoon Planet, though... That's a different story. A lot of the music in the series was production music that Turner doesn't own and doesn't want to pay for, even the theme music, so that show is fucked. Which is a shame. I'd pay anything for a Cartoon Planet DVD.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Why don't you take it to the CREATORS themselves and see if they still want to be involved.
"We be we baby!"I'm not sure anything even exists of it anymore.
I read an interview with Andy Merrill that said Moxy was unpopular so I don't think many people are clamoring for his return anyhow. Which could also explain why a lot of the one and two-season CN shows haven't gotten much attention since they were cancelled: General disinterest.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Let's not forget Cartoon Brew looked down on writing articles on crowd-funding sites for a time. Now they treat them like any other animation news.
And Channel Awesome prohibited Lupa from posting her Patreon site on a video she added. Then she left, and they then allowed it for other creators anyway.
I don't think crowd-funding is universally regarded as a viable financing option to everyone yet.

I actually read that wiki. My Lord. (I'm thinking of joining myself; there's a lot of facts that aren't on there that I know...)
But that's the facts there. I don't think anyone could tell you when it stopped being shown.
By the way... A new fact has been uncovered in the whole tax write-off thing. The thing about all the shows that have been written off is that they were expensive to make. Megas was; so was Symbionic Titan; maybe Beware the Batman...
CN could probably live with a cheap or decently priced failure, but not with an expensive one...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I really think those shows(as well as a lot of more dramatic cartoons that failed on CN) could've done better on different channels. I don't think a lot of kids are all that interested in them. They enjoy stuff like TTG! and UG.

She specifically mentioned Kickstarter and "Kickstarter esque sites" and then got on twitter to rant about how people using these sites keep spamming people.
She seems to be under the impression that every artist using donation sites is like her: Well employed and only does low quality art on the side.
