I did plenty of that back in my first walkthrough, I had already had the Fire Arrows when I finished the Woodfall Temple and the Mirror Shield when in the Great Bay Temple. Usally when stuck in one temple I just went "f*ck it" and just started the next area.

I can see the appeal, but I kinda liked seeing the cutscenes again. Gave me the feeling that I was replaying the game for the first time.
Will this really happen every time? With every cutscene?

I loved Majora's Mask and I'm looking forward to getting it on the 3DS, but it was this essay that really made me appreciate the game.
Looks like it. The method to expose said weakness also makes every boss fight at least slightly different by default. Without going into detail, Odolwa's animations, design, and even a few of his attacks all got an overhaul.
Also looks like it's still impossible to have a "perfect" cycle. Saving the old lady from Sakon still makes the Kafei/Anju sidequest unwinnable.
as far as people we cant help goes, the old lady hardly requires help.
its bad day sure, but its only theft. she isnt even hurt. once termina is saved all it becomes is an unlucky and unfortunate investment, but hardly anything life destroying.

Eh. I dislike that you can't help everyone.
I imagine that was something everyone wanted to do in the original game, so it's kinda annoying that you can't.

Doesn't the Anju and Kafei sidequest require Sakon to get away with the bomb bag? I'm not sure how they could change that.
