I feel that the main image for this page needs an update; seeing as how when it was created there wasn't an official poster out for Fury Road. Now there is. Also, I just think this new collage that I've compiled below pops more visually:

Unilaterally changing page pics without taking them through Image Pickin' is very much frowned upon. I've reverted the change until this thread comes to a decision.

I prudently changed the image assuming that somebody would notice and come to this thread. I have seen other discussions start up and resolve themselves rather timely and this is the second one I've done that kind of just sits here. Is there an additional step I need to take to make sure my posts are seen?

It's been two days at most. And the thread wasn't opened immediately. There is no reason to believe it would have stalled.

I think the suggestion is more a collection of pics on Mel Gibson than as good an illustration as the current.

Why does that matter? These are all official covers from recent editions of the films. Mel Gibson is the star of the first 3 so his face appearing on the posters/covers is kind of a no-brainer and a moot point.

In any case, the poster for Fury Road on the page image needs to be swapped out anyway. It lists Mark Hildebrandt starring as Mad Max which clearly earmarks this as a fan poster...

I agree the current needs to be changed (if only for quality reasons), but yeah, it needs to be discussed first.

It's bad because they're interchangable, which removes the idea of a collage. The first two on the original are better.

So.....the general consensus seems to be to just change the Fury Road poster in the collage?

Well, I still hold the opinion that the replacement image has more visual pop and energy. However, the fact remains that the fan poster of Fury Road on the current page image needs to be replaced. So, who has final approval/say so over that?

Why "needs to be"?

As the maker of the original collage, I must say "visual pop and energy" never was a consideration when making it. I had the choice between plenty of different posters, I choose those that were the most iconic. Whether they were looking good was not as important as whether they reflected the style of posters from the period they were produced.

I didn't know the one for movie 4 could be fan-made, though.

[up]That's kind of what I like from that one. It feels more period-accurate.

Clock is long up; closing because of the lack of progress.
