I also believe the producers stated that they would make an S2 if they got either 4 million or 400 million yen or something like that; either way, it's an amount that the show has already made, so it could be them being facetious or it could be a sort of stealth confirmation of an S2 in the works or something like that.

Also the new NoWaYu 4koma is out in which Togo and Sonoko interview Yuna Takashima (along with "special"/unwanted guest Chikage), and exactly what you expect to happen happens.

It's the end of the month, which means its time for NoWaYu!

Chapter spoilers:

  • The previous battle has left Yuna in a coma (again?). Chikage is fucking pissed about it and lashes out at Wakaba, saying that Wakaba's obsession with revenge was responsible and that she won't fight by her side anymore; although Anzu comes to Wakaba's defense, the damage is done and Wakaba suffers a Heroic BSoD. What's more, Hinata tells Wakaba that she has to figure this one out for herself, and is then called to the Taisha and leaves without saying goodbye.

  • Anzu decides to help out Wakaba and they go for a walk around town. With Anzu's help, Wakaba realizes the meaning behind Hinata's words in the previous chapter: that she should fight to protect the people she cares about in the present instead of trying to take revenge for the past. Wakaba finds a new sense of purpose.

  • After hearing Wakaba's sincere apology, Chikage decides to give Wakaba one more chance to prove that she's changed. Moreover, Yuna wakes up and is recovering well, and when talking to Wakaba Yuna notes how much Wakaba seems to have changed.

  • But the chapter ends with "But their trials had only just begun..."

Also there are scans of the NoWaYu team's full Hero outfits:

So, none of the rest of the chapter translations got posted here, so I might as well add them for completeness:

And 4komas:

There doesn't seem to be a 4koma about the Chikage-Yuna team... Also! There's a No Wa Yu manga coming out the 30th. So, already today in Japan, I guess! Here's a preview.

Incidentally, the fairies associated with the others: Tama gets Wan'yuudou (輪入道, wheel monk), which causes her yoyo to become giant, on fire, and telepathically controlled. It's also an improvised platform to carry people. Wakaba gets Minamoto no Yoshitsune (源義経), which gives her a technique that lets her jump through the air, more or less flying, and the more she uses it the faster she gets.

Additionally, the atmosphere outside the barrier, at least in this time, is perfectly liveable. and actually improved since the first chapter. Though it's also not completely on fire so that might not be the case by the present day.

You can tell what the girls lost from their final Sange by paying attention to where the petals fall when the fairies disappear.

I don't have access to the chapter itself but I can provide spoilers:

The only people defending Nagano are the Hero Utano Shiratori and her Miko, Mito Fujimori. While Shiratori is very cheerful and upbeat, Mito is more quiet and pessimistic. Despite that they get along very well, and Mito even gets a bit jealous when Shiratori talks to Wakaba.

Right before the fall of Nagano Prefecture, the gods give Mito one final oracle: that Suwa and Nagano had been bait to distract the Vertex, giving the Heroes of Shikoku time to become stronger. Their last words to Mito are praising her and Shiratori for holding out so long.

Also here are pictures of Shiratori (note the whip) and Mito.

Dude if you're going to post spoilers could you PLEASE mark them as such? Without a translation or anything to go off of whatever that was is still a spoiler. I thought you were linking to something about how the series had been cancelled or something.

Well, considering it's a puush link you'd have to assume that the link was an image, not a news article (which would likely be a link to ANN or something similar).

But whatever, image above is probably a spoiler that I still don't know the full context of. Happy slice of life times are over, time for suffering probably.

Haha time for spoilers.

  • Anzu is starting to get suspicious about the Trump Card's side effects, but then Tamako arrives for a sleepover and they discuss who would be the older sister (Tamako wins) and how pretty the sakura are and how they should all go view them when they have a chance. Also the latest miko oracle revealed that another attack is coming, with smaller numbers but with something they haven't seen before.

  • Tamako and Anzu tell the others that they should all go flower viewing after the next battle. Chikage is initially opposed to the plan, but after Yuna gives her enthusiastic approval Chikage has no choice but to agree.

  • Vertex attack happens, and as predicted there's an unsually small number of them. Tamako laughs at their puny numbers while Wakaba warns everyone to not let their guard down. Anzu warns everyone not to use their trump cards because it could be dangerous.

  • The fight goes well initially, with the team easily dealing with the weaker Vertex and Anzu's strategy of sniping down any groups that look like they're about to merge. But a group of about 100 or so escapes her attention until its too late. Tamako moves to use her Trump Card to protect Anzu, but Anzu moves first and unleashes her Trump Card. Using the power of Yuki-jyorou, the ice spirit, Anzu freezes the entire Jukai and obliterates the remaining Vertex. Tamako is mad at Anzu for using her Trump Card after warning everyone how dangerous it was, but otherwise everyone is jubilant in their victory.

  • Then Tamako turns around to face the sea, only to see a gigantic swarm of Vertex led by a gigantic armored Vertex resembling a scorpion's tail (likely Scorpio). Anzu unleashes a blizzard at it, but while it destroys the lesser Vertex around it the Scorpio seems relatively unharmed; meanwhile, the other Vertex begin to merge as well. It's an ambush and the Heroes have been caught by surprise.

  • Left with no choice, everyone else unleashes their Trump Cards. While Anzu curses her weakness, the Scorpio suddenly attacks, and only Tamako's quick intervention saves her. Riding Tamako's wheel, they attack Scorpio together but seemingly to little avail. Scorpio then launches a counterattack with its tail, sending them flying. The other Heroes try to help, but each is blocked with their own evolved Vertex and can't intervene. At this point, Anzu loses consciousness.

  • Anzu eventually awakens to find a badly injured Tamako continuously shielding her with no regard toward her own safety. Anzu yells at Tamako to abandon her and save herself, but of course Tamako refuses, finding the strength to be Anzu's shield from her love. Tamako tells Anzu to do the same, to abandon her and save herself, but you can probably guess her answer.

  • Gathering all of her remaining strength, Anzu fires blast after icy blast at the Scorpio with her crossbow as Tamako continues to shield her. Although it seems hopeless at first, eventually their preserverance wins out and the Scorpio is defeated. Their bodies broken and their strength exhausted, Tamako and Anzu collapse together. They apologize to each other for not being able to fulfill their promise, and vow to become true sisters in the next life. With that, the chapter ends.

Note that we actually are not sure if Tamako and Anzu are alive or dead. I don't think that the text strictly said they died, but their dialogue at the end reeks of Together in Death. Even if they're still alive, it's clear that they're very gravely injured.

I'll probably be able to answer the last question with more certainty once we get a proper translation of the chapter.

Here is the chapter: http://pastebin.com/KXm7LvAE

It looks like my initial translation got a few things wrong:

  • Looks like Anzu and Tamako didn't manage to defeat Scorpio.
  • It's still rather ambiguous as to whether Anzu and Tamako are alive, but things are leaning heavily toward dead.
  • It was also incredibly cruel how Tamako and Anzu both had The Power of Love internal monologues about how Tamako was determined to be Anzu's shield and Anzu was given her crossbow because she wanted to be as strong as Tamako, but then they're completely and utterly defeated without leaving a scratch. It's been a while since I've seen The Power of Love fail so decisively.
Also Tamako's shield is named Kamuyatatehime and Anzu's bow is named Kinkyusen.

Wait a moment. Anzu and Tamako promised to be true sisters in the next life? If reincarnation is indeed a thing in the Yuki Yuna universe, I wouldn't be surprised if the Inubozaki sisters are the reincarnations of Anzu and Tamako, whose biological sisterhood was given as a reward by the gods that made up the Shinju for their service.

That's the general consensus on /a/, unless the gods decided to be cruel and reincarnate them as Gin and her little brother. But really, even though I knew something like this was coming from the start, it still hurts.

Also while adding the Hero Diaries to the Quotes section I noticed that Chapter 11's is completely censored, with even the name blacked out. Thanks to the way the names are written, the only person who could have signed that Hero Diary is Chikage, and Chikage therefore must be the Hero referred to by the others when they mention someone being unstable. Also, the number of heroes that there were is censored in Chapter 2's diary. This can only mean that Chikage does something so terrible that the Taisha have decided to erase all record of her existence. (But then again, is anybody really surprised?)

It's also pretty funny how Yuna is often compared to Hibiki Tachibana, and the chapter ends with her summoning Shuten-Douji, a character who was recently introduced in the Nasuverse as being voiced by Aoi Yūki.

Alright, here's the chapter: http://pastebin.com/Mby7qHWf

It's not a happy one.

Guess I don't really need to post spoilers since we got a translation so quickly, God bless /a/'s YuYuYu fandom. I'll post them anyway though, since it's the only life I know:

  • Yuna's Shuten-Douji powerful makes her tekko grow to monstrous size and gives her insane power; she's able to singlehandedly pound the Scorpio into rubble, not stopping until it's completely destroyed. The Scorpio had begun to corrupt parts of the Jukai, and when Forestization ends a tornado hits a part of Shikoku, causing lots of damage and killing several people.

  • Tamako and Anzu's funeral happens and it's really depressing. Hinata volunteers to clean their bodies for the funeral herself. It's a very quiet affair, and the Taisha decide not to reveal that two Heroes have died to the public. Aki, the miko from Chapter 8 who knew Tamako and Anzu, breaks down into tears upon realizing she would never be able to spend time with them again. Yuna is unable to attend as she collapsed after the Scorpio fight and is hospitallized.

  • Wakaba and Chikage have been locking themselves in their rooms and Chikage has stopped coming to class despite the Taisha's pleas to get a psychiatric evaluation. Eventually, Yuna becomes well enough to receive visitors and she is able to comfort Chikage's fears, promising to protect her no matter what.

  • In May, once Yuna has left the hospital, the Taisha send the three surviving Heroes on a new mission: to kill another evolved Vertex forming over the Seto Inland Sea. The three are confused as to what they mean as looking out at the sea they don't see anything, but as they get closer a giant Vertex suddenly comes into view. They realize that there's a "barrier" that hides the view of Vertex, obviously to prevent the townspeople from panicking. The Vertex that's forming is our old friend, Leo.

  • Chikage and Wakaba tell Yuna to stand back as her arms have not fully recovered, and use their Trump Cards to try to damage Leo, but as they expected their attacks are ineffective. Moreover, they notice that the Stardust are ignoring them and focusing on completing Leo. Suddenly Leo fires a massive fireball at them; Wakaba dodges in time but six of Chikage's seven clones are disintegrated at once; the fireball sails past them and crashes into the sea near Honshu. Wakaba and Chikage realize that if the Leo were completed and were to attack Shikoku, they would have no way to stop it.

  • Yuna has had enough and tries to take matters into her own hands. She tries to summon Shuten-Douji once more, but she is unable to complete the transformation. Nevertheless, she tries to go for her Yuusha Punch anyway, but before she hits Leo she suddenly coughs up a torrent of blood and falls unconscious into the Seto Inland Sea. Chikage and Wakaba rescue Yuna and are forced to retreat, and Yuna is hospitallized again.

  • Chikage, without Yuna to assuage her fears, and still plagued by her thoughts of uselessness and her fear of dying after the Scorpio battle, begins to have a mental breakdown. In lieu of Yuna, she begins to find things like newspaper clippings and web articles praising the Heroes to restore her sense of self-worth, but then when she looks on anonymous imageboards she suddenly sees people badmouthing the Heroes, as well as rumors that a couple of the Heroes have died and that their fight had caused the recent tornado. The chapter ends by saying that hatred began to build in Chikage's heart.

The chapter at least confirms that Tamako and Anzu really are dead.

Fucking lol at Chikage being driven insane from what's basically 4chan threads though

Also since Shuten-Douji is known as one of the "Three Great Youkai" even in Real Life, I wonder if the other two (Tamamo-no-Mae and Emperor Sutoku) will make an appearance, especially since Sutoku is a tengu and Wakaba's descendant's first fairy was a tengu.

Also the newest 4koma features the YuYuYu crew and the NoWaYu crew competing in some sort of competition, and Gin makes an appearance
