If this is the wrong thread, sorry, but I have a question. Rather, I have a youtube channel, it's an embarrassing thing (I hate looking back at my work) but it is still my channel. So why, when I log back onto youtube, does the thing demand I make a new channel? Naturally it is demanding that I use my real name and have the same account for all Google stuff, which is fine except I see other users posting comments with the same *u08u screen names that have always been on the site.

I'm wondering, did I get locked out of my account due to inactivity, or did I get locked out a long time ago and just forget about it until now. I'm obviously not banned, or at least if I was punished in some way youtube didn't bother to explain. My channel and all its videos still exist, though they've been distorted beyond recognition for some reason and now run with ads youtube hasn't removed them. I can't figure out what's going on, can any of you?
