I would have to dig up the reference as well, but yes, our consensus was that we should avoid using the Web Original Namespace and instead use a more specific namespace. As far as media categories on trope articles, Web Original is still fine to use.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"FYI, if you've seen someone trying to use Web Serial Novel as a namespace, they need to stop. Those are supposed to go under Literature/, like other original (in the legal sense) written works.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Would it be worthwhile to make a note on the Web Original page indicating to not use it as a namespace in the future? My general inclination is that no one's going to check there, but it would make for an easy place to get the definitive "This is how we are doing this from here on" answer in regards to the split.
Web Original can still be used for works which don't have a more specific namespaces. One of my self-imposed new page guardian duties is to check whether any new pages are in the right namespace, and to move the misplaced ones.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAlong the same lines as web-original written fiction being namespaced under "Literature/", will web-original video fiction be namespaced under "Series/" (EDIT: Or the animation namespaces, where applicable)? (Discounting such things as Lets Plays and fan videos, of course.)

At the moment it is under Web Video, just like a lot of the Abridged Series and animation that's internet only is under Web Animation.

A while back, in a discussion on these boards (unfortunately, I forget exactly where), someone made reference to a decision to retire Web Original as a designation and instead start using categories such as Web Serial Novel and the like. Was there an actual decision of that sort? I haven't found anything by searching through site entries or discussion titles.
